My iPhone fits into the charge cradle with a case on. It’s tight, but it fits. Perhaps try sliding in at a different angle. ........the phone, that is!

It will fit vertically but the ipnone pro max will not go in horizontally. It needs to be centered to charge. I am going to look at a little plastic surgery on the console.

I have a Glaxy S9 and it charges fine standing vertically. Is your iPhone that much taller?

I am not sure , I tried it every way except upside down I will try burn'n oils idea next.
before I cut the console.

Picked up my 2500 Laramie today. The wireless charger wasn't working. Tried my Galaxy S9, 2 salemen's iPhone 10s, and a Galaxy S10. So they whipped it into the shop and had their "computer guy" look at it. He could not find anything and there were no codes. He told me I was going to have to bring it in and let him rip the console out to check for power and ground. Then, as a shot in the dark he reflashed the BCM with the Sales Codes and it started working.

My S9 seems to charge dependably inserted vertically and it does have a thin case on it that covers the back of the phone for a slide in holster.

My Note 8 fits great with a case, but it won't charge. The wireless charger that they use is worthless and I let them know.

It will not charge at all. You can get it to start and then it just stops with the vibration of the road. Useless accessory.

Mine charges, but I have to get it in just the right spot, and it will sometimes lose contact on a real bumpy surface, since the weight of the phone doesn't help it stay put when standing vertically. Not useless for me, but certainly not well thought out. You have to wonder who designs this stuff. Do they reside in the real world?

This is infuriating... Why even go through the hassles of designing something if you don't actually make it useful in the real world? Is this a $80K truck or a $3 chinese product?

Just asking......the stupid question.....don't call me names. Are you folks that have problems pushing your phone down into that charging slot. On my 2020 charger has room for me to sit my phone onto the charger but at the bottom of the charger there is a front "flap" about 1 1/2" high that forms a slot to push the phone down into. There is slight resistance but once you press the bottom edge of your phone past the top edge of that front flap the phone slides right down, held securely by the flap, and my phone starts charging. I'm sure everyone realizes there is a "slot" to push the phone into but I just thought I'd mention it. Some of the salesmen were just sitting their phones on top of the slot and leaning them back against the charger.

Have you tried it without the case (just to make sure the feature works)? I have a note 8 with a Spigen case and it works well in a vertical position, even on bumpy roads. I do have to ensure I hit the "sweet spot" just right otherwise I don't get a connection. In my truck, the phone has to sit about 3/4" to the right of the little blue/green/red light to get a good connection.

Of course we did test it without the case and it worked fine. Having to take it out of a case is a deal breaker, especially since the case I use is the thin Verizon shell case that works perfectly on a charging pad in the house.
The design test must have used a phone without a case. Not a real world environment.
They should have made the charging pad extra powerful to account for cases. Heating burritos with it would be cool, too.

It's difficult to stand a burrito on end ;)

That's too bad. My Spigen case isn't as thick as something like an Otterbox, but it's not thin either. Only suggestion I can make, which you've likely already tried, is to move it left or right in the slot to see if it kicks on. If mine's left or right of the sweet spot by much more than a 1/4", it won't charge. So, it is real finicky. I've placed a little bit of colored tape vertically of the left side so I can make sure I line it up correctly each time. After putting the tape on, I rarely miss the spot. Hope it gets better for you. Also, even in the correct spot, it'll sometimes take a good few seconds before the charging starts.

S10E with a Gear4 case and it fits fine but needs to be in just the right spot. Wonder if the OP did in fact resort to plastic surgery?

Mine is intermittent - with or without the case. iPhone XR
