Who’s using one of the new ceramic type coatings on their windshield? I used to use rain x but that’s some old tech, a bit of a pain to buff off and imho does not last that long. I used to get ads on FB etc (now I will again:p) and was curious how they were holding up now that they have been around for a while?
Recommended and not recommended are welcome..

I always wax my windshield, old school turtle wax or waterless wash and wax and it leaves a little haze, but I rarely have to use my wipers at all here in Washington, even in a downpour the rain balls up and blows away, especially with windspeed on the highway. Wipers in fact seem to make visibility worse in this case. I bet the more you use your wipers the faster it will wear off, but I’d definitely give it a go. Also applying to motorcycle helmets and reverse camera lens.

I plan to use the Invisible Glass line of products. They have a stripper and ceramic coating. If you want to take a deep dive look up Pan The Organizer on youtube. He test out nearly every car care product available and now has his own line. The most recent windshield product he reviewed was by C6 Ceramics called Hydro Glass. Seemed pretty great.

I really like Ultra Glaco by Soft 99. It has an applicator built into the bottle, so it's super easy to use. They even sell a compound to clean and prep the windshield. I installed it in late April, and so far, so good.

Back in the day Permatex made a product called ‘Rain Shield’.

All you had to do was wait for it to rain or spray down the windshield with water, spray the product on the wet window and turn the wipers on to ‘buff’ it in.

Worked better than Rain-X and lasted a long time too.

When they discontinued it a parts store had it on clearance for a buck a can. I bought a couple cases and finally ran out of it last year lol.

I may have to give some of the ceramic based coatings a try.

Does the stripper put the ceramic coating on?

No, it's the prep work part before applying a coating. Sort of like doing paint correction before a coating.

When I had my truck ceramic coated by the detailer he talked me into doing the windows and im glad he did, it beads, it keeps clean and snow slides off it real easy like and its been 3 years now.

I use chemical guys hydro speed on my glass. It lasts between washings but that's about it. It's ceramic type of stuff

I used Aquapel on a previous vehicle of mine. Made for airplane windshields. Always worked pretty good but sounds like the ceramic might be better
