Hi, I am looking to install a full Winch bumper with a 12K or 16K winch on my 2020 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi 4X4 Crew Cab Limited with a 6'4" bed and was wondering if any one here had any issues with the front end sagging and having to replace either there shocks or front spring or both with heavy duty ones at any point. Just a little more information on the suspension mods that have been made already to my truck are front Rough Country 2 1/2" leveling kit with shock extenders and Rear AirLift Air Bags 5000 kit. Also are you happy with the out come of the change or any regrets and the brands that I am looking at are Ranch Hand & Steel Craft and and any full winch bumpers recommendations are appreciated . Thank you

You will have a little sag from the additional weight out past the front axle. How much sag is relevant to how heavy your new bumper and winch combo will be. I drooped about 3/8” after installing mine, and don’t think it’s as heavy as one of those full on cattle catcher ranch hands or similar. I don’t think it will “wear out” springs or shocks any quicker than usual but it may be a little different handling. Maybe some front end tire wear. Some may be up to 500lbs.

Hi, Flan & Wrayzor
The full Winch brush guard bumpers I am looking at are about 350 lbs to 400lbs each and the winch with accessories is about 100 llbs to 120 lbs depending on the 12K or 16k winch so a rough estimate of 450 to 550 lbs and at first I did consider the VICE Design hiddin winch tray but I want more front end protection for peace of mind because I live in Texas in the hill country and when its deer season its a hit or miss situation and we travel with our 25' travel trailer also and would like too enjoy some of our retirement in good health and thank you for the response and suggestions .

My AEV bumper shipped at 300+ something lb. I figured with taking out packaging and pallet the bumper weighed right at 300lb.

The 12k warn weighs like 84 lb.

The stock bumper and tow hooks and stuff removed may have added up to 75lb-85lb . I could lift the stock bumper by myself easily.

so, overall, Roughly 300lb added to the front of the truck.

I had ~2” of rake when I bought the truck, and after I installed the bumper I had ~1.75” rake. (~1/4” sag) I had a 2” level kit ready to install but I ended up going with 1” instead and keeping the 3/4” rake.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Rockcrawlerdude
Thank you for the information on your bumper and winch numbers , it gives me a some what idea of what to expect . On another note did the extra weight and install of the new parts affect your fuel milage if any.

I couldn’t quantify that for you, unfortunately. Probably not much, though.

All the crap bolted to my truck and 35”s I still get 12-13 in town and 15-17 on the freeway road trippin

I just put a fab fours matrix pre-runner on my hemi laramie with the off road package (bilsteins). I am not noticing any sag. But I thought wait a minute, the Cummins weighs like 800 lbs more than the hemi doesn't it? AND the suspensions I don't think are different, just payload...??? So, no wonder... ??? It does change the ride a little bit, not too much. It maybe pre-loads the springs/shocks a bit with the extra weight. I'm also looking at a leveling kit. I'm looking at Carli leveling, but they seem totally oriented around diesel so wondering about that...
