Will Trailer Reverse Steering Control work with Cabover Camper on?

When I install a cabover camper I will need to remove the tailgate and the cargo view camera view will be blocked. Additionally, the view from the side view mirrors will be restricted.

If I get the Tow Technology Group, the Tow Technology Plus Group, and the Wired Tow-mode Camera and install it on the back of the camper will the Trailer Reverse Steering Control still work?

Trailer reverse steering control uses the backup camera in the tailgate. None of the other cameras are used for that system.

I noticed there are backup camera relocation kits available. If I relocate the camera to the back of the camper would that enable the trailer reverse steering control to work?

If it’s not in exactly the same position it may “work”, but it won’t work properly.

Actually, an amendment to my previous post. There may be some sort of calibration that can be done, but I don’t know for sure.

Thanks, I think think that document will help if I decide to add a camera to the back of my camper. At this point I doubt I'm going to opt for the trailer reverse steering control. I thought it would be great if it would work when my little fishing boat is behind my camper (by the time I can see it in my side mirrors it is too late) but I think there is too much risk that it wouldn't work. However the a backup camera mounted on the camper would be helpful.

If you get the trailer reverse steering, you can't have AUX switches. I'd opt for those instead.

Unfortunately, that also means (with AUX) you can't get the DRVM 3.0 with the side mirror cameras that show in the mirror.

I think there's a way to order with the trailer steer and then rip it out and put in AUX on the diesel, but the gasser doesn't come with the factory Aux PDU under that hood. I expect it's also possible to order with Aux and then install the DRVM 3.0 mirror and CVPM but that's a @Jimmy07 question.

We haven't really worked up a DIY matrix chart for that I'm aware of.
