Why I will always have my moose ears on my truck...

This is why I hate the design of the RAM tow mirrors. Ford has the best tow mirrors. They are larger and you simply slide them out. The arms have a very slight curve to them so they mirrors keep their perspective well. Then it is a minimal adjustment from when they are slid in. They look better from an aesthetic as well.

Of course this is simply my opinion having experience with both Ford and RAM.

Wait until you get one damaged and have to replace it.

Are you talking about my current RAM tow mirrors or the F150?

I actually added them to my 2017 F150. I had to replace the entire wiring harness in both doors to get all the features working. I bought the harnesses from a forum member on an F150 site. The mirrors were A1A if I remember correctly. All in it cost me less than $600. Of course I did all the work myself.

Super Duty tow mirrors, parts only. $600 pays the shipping and sales tax lol.

You can get replacements far cheaper really. Just not from a Ford dealer. But the F150 and SuperDuty have the same tow mirrors.

I wonder what Mopar charges for the RAM tow mirrors with power fold?

Status?? Look goofy?? For the lifted coal rollers??
What is this nonsense?? Function over looks, anyone?
Don't care what y'all think, you get much better rear view with them flipped out, that's all that counts. If you don't like it, don't do it but stop your whining please.
Ford SD mirrors are in the same orientation and they are the best mirrors of all HD trucks. Cut the top support arm off and it will look just as goofy as the RAM tow mirrors.

The stock ram mirrors aren't tall enough in the lowered position. I keep them down but the blind spots are terrible and I hate relying on the cat eye to get an appropriate vertical field of view.

I am all for form follows function but I actually think the function is better folded down. Having the convex on the outside allows me to angle the regular passenger mirror to be able to see the body side and lines on the road while having a great rear view in the convex mirror. It is logical in that the inside shows the body side and road lines and the outer shows everything behind you.

Again, to each their own and there is no wrong answer. Do what works best for you.

The thread wasn't started by someone whining about the mirrors being out. And it is obvious there are different opinions with both opeinions whining.

The only ones that should keep the mirrors down when not towing is the ones with the gay chrome caps on the mirror god they look awful lol
Haha. It's not like they have a choice. The Laramie and Limited come that way of course. Would be nice to have an option to have them body color matched or black chrome/or just plain black like on the Night ED.

How did I get signed up in da gay club? LOL :D
Didn't want any chrome on my truck but didn't have a choice

All the manufacturers do it.

Also the ones i have seen have chrome caps that cover 1/2 the mirror body i think that may be aftermarket but looks terrible when in towing position

The chrome ones are probably easier to clean the bugs off though. The guy that washes mine has to really scrub on the black ones. LOL Speaking of that, my car washer is getting fired. He is lazy and doesn't do a good job.

Me, I am the car washer.

There are coatings for that.
