Why 4G

I now own a 26 Ram. Just noticed that the hotspot is only 4G. Why didn't they put in the 5G system? Only gripe I have have about my truck. I would have paid extra for the 5G if it was an option.

Probably the cost of 5g components to upgrade the uconnect system at the time the truck designs were finalized.

I use both my phone and the Uconnect depending on where I am. Sometimes my phone has no coverage where the truck does. I believe that it is still off of ATT where I have Verizon on my phone. I work out of my truck all over the country. I have a Ram mount (not a Mopar, just happens to be the same name https://rammount.com/collections/la...FPniyiHVNjmt-8Hfa8RhIoNXOeDbyhUjsfwRXWhOoKr4X ) in my truck for my computer desk off the passengers seat.

I noticed new Fords have 5G while Ram does not. The problem I ran into using the truck's modem was that power had to be on. With my old Ford I could start the truck then turn it off and get 30 minutes of connect time. Now I've got StarLink mini that plugs into my 12v outlet. Good to go!

No, I just lay it up on the dash. The cord is long enough that if I'm parked I could set it out on the tonneau cover but so far no reason to. I saw a bracket for securing the antenna to the dash but it cost too much in my opinion.
