I get it. It makes sense. I’m not planning on needing 20+1 rounds today, either. It's one of those peace of mind things. I'm not planning on driving through water that goes over the hood. On the other hand, water can also splash a lot so it doesn't have to be that high.
The snorkel also looks good (but I can see how some people don't like it). I drive through the desert a lot and it will filter out some dust (I got the pre-filter).
How does it install/look under the hood?To each their own

He posted about it here. How does it install/look under the hood?
It looks almost stock. It retains the OE airbox lid and filter but connects to their own lower airbox that mates to the snorkel body inside the fender. How does it install/look under the hood?
That rig looks awesome! More pics of it from all angles, pretty please.

F’n bravo. Well done.

Looking cool is a sweet bonus, though. This is a funny thread and after running the AEV Snorkel on my Prospector for some time I thought I would contribute some pictures.
Don't overthink it - you're just drilling a few holes into a vehicle that someday someone else will own.

You use basic hand tools to tuns a few bolts and remove a couple of parts - it's not rocket science.

The design of the AEV Snorkel permits you to squeeze through tight places.

Instead of buying a boat - you just use your truck.

And since I'm a man I really don't care if people like how I look or think my truck looks cool. It's a tool that I use for having fun.

In the early 2000s I had a safari snorkel survive a rollover in my XJ. Unfortunately the fender and A pillar did not survive so it all got removed but polyurethane is likely more durable than the surrounding bits. How durable are these snorkels? It seems like they could be cracked/damaged by branches or other things.
It might be cool if the round part where it goes into the engine included a large round cylinder air filter.
