Which Safety Group A features do you find useful?

sounds like they added the pedestrian detection and/or signal light detection

Still no pedestrian braking or signal detection for the HDs. The “Plus” part of the FCW feature is just saying that it auto brakes in addition to visual warnings.

So maybe just semantics, but when I read the manual for the 2021 3500, I believe it did say it had pedestrian detection but maybe not. I have read so much waiting for my truck that I lose track of where I saw specific things. Maybe the HDs have pedestrian detection, but not pedestrian braking? Or maybe neither?

Neither. 2021 Ram 1500 DTs have the feature. It’s called Pedestrian Emergency Braking (PEB).

I think there is a real potential danger associated with all of these "driver assist" features. That is new drivers coming up now who will have never driven a vehicle without this stuff, will some day get in an older rig and crash because they will be relying on the vehicle to do half of the driving for them.
Personally, I have zero use for this stuff. Been driving for over 40 years, and many millions of miles. Daily drive a 95 foot 105,000 pound semi for a living, without any of those electronic "helpers", though I will admit to being addicted to basic cruise control.
I hope this doesn't sound like criticism of those who like these features. I am just expressing MY opinion on the subject.
When I was in my teens my dad thought it would be a good idea for me to drive his friends collector car with a three-in-the-tree transmissions. I quickly got hang of the transmission and was told to take a sweeping left hand turn at a Y in the road. As I approached the split in the road, I touched the brakes to slow a little and...nothing. I started to turn the wheel left and...nothing. My heart leapt into my throat as I'm realizing that I could put this very expensive car into the woods. Fortunately I didn't freeze up and instinctively just muscled the wheel to make the turn at a speed fast enough to make the tires squeal. They suggested I take it a little easier on the turns.

The car didn't have power steering or brakes. I had never driven a car without these features. I never said anything to them about the split second panic of possibly crashing the car.
