Which floor jack

Just picked up a new 2019 Ram 2500 Megacab Lariat. My current floor jack is an older 2 1/4 ton. I'm going to purchase a new floor jack and trying to decide between two options:
1) Harbor Freight DAYTONA 4 Ton Professional Rapid Pump Floor Jack ($159) or
2) Harbor Freight Daytona 3 Ton Long Reach Low Profile Professional Rapid Pump ($169)

Would appreciate your recommendations as to which one. The obvious trade off to me is the extra 4 inches of lift with #2 vice the extra lift capacity of #1.

I’ve had the low pro for about 3 years now and I love it, got the low pro so I could get it under my sedans and the Cummins I had. It has been a great jack.
 
Another thing that has come in super handy are those powerbuilt all-in-one bottle jack jack stands. I have 2 of the 3 ton versions and I use them all the time.

Just checked those out. Had not heard of those before. Looks like they would be super handy as you said.
 
I have the Harbor Freight 3-ton Pittsburgh floor jack and worked very well to lift my beast up and get it on jack stands for my first tire rotation.

I have the same and it's perfect, still heavy but solid.

FYI, Recall on the HF jackstands


got 4 in the garage that seem fine, but i will bring back to the store once restrictions are lifted.

This is a seemingly never-ending issue with this style jack stand. I recall people being injured or worse decades ago by inadvertently bumping the release lever on jacks manufactured with an insufficient pawl/rack interface. The more things change... :(
 
Went with the 3-ton. Haven’t had a need to use it yet but don’t expect any issues.
 
I've got the HF 4 ton jack back when I bought my Y2K Cummins 2500. Jack has worked flawless. Used it a couple weeks ago on the current truck to rotate the tires. Recently just did maint on the jack; grease, jack oil and cleaning. Still works like new.

I use the Daytona 4 ton. I also have a 3 ton Pittsburgh. The 3 ton will lift up the truck, but the 4 ton makes for a much easier lift.
 
+1 for Harbor freight 3 ton Pittsburgh Low Profile. Went with matching jack stands, fortunately I bought the non-recall one.

There are certain smells in life I love and treasure, the aroma of Hoppes #9 gun solvent, walking through a motorcycle shop - new bikes, tires and fluids, a tire shop and Harbor Freight!! I’m pretty sure most of those things aren’t good for you over time but I love them regardless ... I’m guessing those of you who read this are just like me...:cool:
