Which console?

I have a 2021 Ram 2500 HD and I have been looking into replacing my center seat with a full console. While I was searching for a used(very overpriced) console several questions arose. I have heard my truck described as a 4th Gen, 4.5 Gen, 5th Gen, 5th Gen Classic and a bay 5th Gen, from people that think that they know. Apparently this Generation thing is confusing. What Generation do I have?
On to the real question. I have been told that some Ram 1500 consoles would fit in my 2500. That would help my search considerably. There are tons more of wrecked out 1500s to chose from. Can anybody narrow this down for me?

Not helpful in any way but I’ve got a 2021 power wagon that I also want to switch to the center console and I’m having a tough time tracking down exactly how to source it as well. Interested to see if anyone knows what part numbers or where to find one that’ll fit!

I had the bench seats (six passenger) in my 2013 1500. I got the console in my 2015 and decided I would NEVER get the bench seat again. That became my primary requirement for future trucks. I've noticed, over time, they are becoming ever more present... I used to search when I was looking and they were actually few and far between. Now, they appear to be trending toward the dominant choice I am subjectively noting...

4.5 gen is what you have.
The 1500s are a 5th gen for 21 but the 2500s have not moved to the new cab yet.
I agree. The guts, frame and transmission changed with a bit of outside, but the cab is 4th gen, The changes are substantive, particularly in relation to the Hemi with the 8 speed ZF transmission being substantially better than the old six. The frame/metalurgical changes are also an improvement net effect increasing towing capability. I'm thinking any gen 5 changes will be mostly in looks/cab changes and maybe lessons learned tweaks on the mechanics....unless the rumors about the inline six likely turbocharged replacing the Hemi with increased HP and torque better performance at altitude and mileage... That would be something to see as I bet also will be the prices...already sky rocketing.

I was just doing a build on my six week old 2022 Hemi 6.4 on the Ram site. My build had an MSRP of 63,600 (I got for 2K less). They don't have my "level" available now but the A level now available has as about the only difference the Power Fold mirrors with convex electric adjustment. That alone makes it worth it. But before all this they were part of the stock package on a Laramie... But, anyway, my virtually identical Laramie built at the Ram site just went into the 67K range MSRP per the build site. MY unit came onto the dealers lot about the first of March with the 63,600 MSRP while 9 other identical ones except color came onto the lot with a price like 1800 to 2K higher MSRP. Identical... I've been doing builds on the website just to sort of watch...

Here is one IDENTICAL to mine https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...04-459010041.1650825704&vin=3C6UR5FJ8NG229072 or at the website https://www.ontarioautoranchcdjr.com/new/Ram/2022-Ram-2500-ab1651cf0a0e09a96a25f0c10d5db1b7.htm It has a 65+K MSRP

Here is my monroney/window sticker https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...04-459010041.1650825704&vin=3C6UR5FJ0NG213609 Note, it came in at 63,620.

These two units above came to the dealer within days of each other as part of one order. He told me that another price increase was on the way. I've seen two since (end of Feb) with MSRP's NOW approaching 67K on virtually identical units. I actually see an almost identical unit in another state https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...04-459010041.1650825704&vin=3C6UR5FJ6NG232729 It is listed at MSRP 66,695. It does have adaptive steering and the power mirrors as the only difference. Those mirrors are worth paying more for imho... But you can see how pricing is changing over time. The power folding mirrors and adaptive steering were not available at the time mine was ordered, I believe.

I wouldn't wait too long if you are sitting on the sidelines...
