What's the most annoying thing about your truck?

I reach for the dial shifter and either grab the radio knob or the control knob for the A/C. Having to look down to change the shifter can create safety issues. I knew I would hate this shift setup when I ordered my truck but still preferred it over Chevy or Ford.

I test drove a 2017 PW before buying this one and the column shifter was the worst, had no positive clicks and felt like a big and limp switch lever attached to nothing. Talk about having to look…much prefer the dial to that one and I don’t like the dial. I am getting used to it, though.
That 2017 was a smoking deal from a customer, already modded how I would, clean and ultra low miles..would have bought it in a heartbeat, but no.

Oh wow! Is the stated mileage in the cities stop and go traffic with 4.10 DRW?
My HO is getting high tens but I don't live in a city so don't know how bad in there it will be
If you're getting 10.5-11.5 highways and not towing then something is seriously wrong with your truck

Actually I just reread your post. Not just highway at that mileage. It’s a combination of city/hwy driving.

What's the expected mpg for drw 4.10 gear CHO?

I wonder why some have issues with it and some don't? [Dial knob shifter]

After some of us have literally been programmed to reach for a column shifter for decades, it becomes very natural due to muscle memory.

If we had been programmed to depress the brake pedal and push a button to start the truck then turn a knob to put it into gear for 40 years, it wouldn't be an issue.

The only gear selector I hate worse than a knob is the multiple buttons that you have to poke your finger under and lift up on them like my wife's Buick. When I park it I have to push the Park button, step on the brake, push the kill button on the dash then throw in pushing the garage door button if I'm pulling into the garage. I can't get all that button pushing committed to muscle memory. Occasionally I leave the damn thing running because I forget to push that button. Never happened with a key in the column....ever. And I've never failed to put a column shifter in Park either. It's just my muscle memory. Some are more easily reprogrammed than others.

And......GET OFF MY LAWN! I don't recall who to give the credit for that one. Somebody recently posted that comment evidently in reference to being a grumpy old man that's set in his ways. I'm getting to the point I don't mind bearing that cross myself!

I have been driving for over 50 years...... first started driving farm trucks 53 years ago. My first vehicle had a button on the floor you had to push to start it.....I guess I was just wired to be a button pusher...I mean my wife says I know how to push people's buttons.....

I’m the “lawn” guy - after seeing the mess required for AC repair, I feel like I shouldn’t complain about anything. But man - I miss keys and column shifters!!!!

I drive so many rentals cars that the myriad of shift selectors is maddening.

The Mercedes this week is a little stalk on the column like a wiper stalk. Up is R, down is D, press the button on the end for park.

Prior rental was a Lincoln MKZ with push button dash like my dad's 67 Dodge Dart.

Floor, column, buttons, dials, etc. It's crazy.

I have to take my eyes off the road to change gears when going park to drive or reverse.
hmmm i think we must have a different style of driving. I can not think of a single instance where going from park to in gear would require my eyes glued to the road and same from going from being in gear tp park.

The Nexens on my 2018 were garbage too. A couple of them had to be replaced because of broken belts. Replaced all of them by 15k miles. The truck does pull about 17k 90% of the time but even with that they should have lasted longer than they did.
2020 4WD DWR, 21K miles on factory installed Nexen Roadian HTX LT235/80/R17 all around. No discernible date codes on any of the Nexen tires. Tread separation on driver side front. Sidewall separation on passenger side, inside tire, inboard side. Happened while towing 18.5K+ 5W. Luckily we did not crash. I will not be replacing those tires with like items. Maybe we hit something, but I do not recall going over anything in the road.

I replaced my stock Nexxen's shortly after purchasing my dually, wasn't willing to take the chance

The Merc shifter is pretty bad (similar to the current BMW shifter, but theirs is in the center console), but I had a new worst shifter in last week's rental. It was a CR-V Hybrid. It's too hard to describe, so here's a picture.

2019 Power Wagon, the mirrors don't always return after the curb view. Can the auto curb view be disabled?

The talk to text. have to use prerecorded if you can Rember what they are.

You guys give me some feedback here. Everyone complains about the horn honk when leaving the truck running…….BUT why must you keep the keys in your pocket?? Anytime I get in any vehicle (with push button) the keys get tossed in the cup holder or the console area somewhere. Why do you feel that you must have them in your pocket to get out of the truck with it running? Why are you getting out of it running in the first place? And whatever this reason is, why is it a problem for the keys to be left inside? Theft? If so, why are you leaving it running anyway? I’m not a “keep everything in my pockets” kind of guy. I can’t stand **** in my pockets. That’s the one thing I miss most about my F350. The keypad on the door. Keys stayed in the cup holder. Lock the door. Go about my business. Use the keypad to unlock it when I return. In the past, I wouldn’t even consider buying a different make of truck because of this one feature alone.

Yes this can be disabled in the settings in Uconnect.

I leave my truck running whenever I am stopping somewhere and Ill be less then 10-15 mins, like a quick trip into the grocery store. I feel like I was told that its better for the diesel to not start and stop it all the time and it keeps it warm in the winter. I dont live in a high theft area but would rather not leave the keys in the truck unlocked when I run to grab a 6 pack or food for dinner. The three honks are annoying but it doesn't bother me that much so I just let it honk, lock it and be on my way.

Different strokes i guess. I keep my keys strapped to my pants, and tend to keep my pockets full (knife, tools, gun, ect). More importantly, I was taught never to leave keys in a vehicle and walk away.

The dog also appreciates the hvac going on a really hot or cold day while I run in a store or to a job site. And that ****er can't be trusted not to eat a key fob. The key ring that has the truck key also has other things that get used while the truck's on.

Taking the fob with you doesn’t help. Your truck can still be stolen.

I left my truck running and ran back in the house, sat my fob down. Ran back out and left. Drove my truck all over town with the warning on the dash. Nothing happened.
