What's the most annoying thing about your truck?

3 beeps
just tuning the lights off trying to drive to deer stand
door alignment that Ram knows about

I bought a truck (Chevy) that was from Canada and I will make sure that never happens again due to not being able to turn off the lights. I would get so frustrated every time I pulled in to my hunting spot or going to boat ramp in mornings, blinding everyone there. Thank God you can turn them off in American trucks.

I didn't realize the truck was from Canada until I pulled out the manual and it was in french, then noticed the small stickers on windows were also in french.

Most annoying thing about my big loud Cummins girl is that she does not like Prius', every time she see's one.. things get pretty rowdy.
Other than her dislike of all things Prius, the A/C system. It is better than my 19' 1500 but inside my GTR you would have thought straight freon was coming through the vents it'd be so cold.

  • My A/C is ok after the TSB work. I also have a shutoff valve on my heater core. Really helps.
  • I have the horn honk issue turned off with AlphaOBD.
  • I really hate the lack of telescoping wheel, knee hitting the 4WD buttons, and the fact that the clock can't keep time.
I wasn't tracking we could turn the triple honk off, even with ALFAOBD... do tell.

i dont think it is possible, there are multiple threads on this.

for me one solution seems like the best option, using an Aux switch to control the behavior as desired.

these thread on the matter

Thanks, I was tracking all that. Aux switch is a convoluted solution I can't bring myself to accept. I honestly assume someone will figure out a different way and keep just waiting on that.

i agree, with the current available options i think its the best compromise.

I HATE the tailgate being locked with the doors ! I'm a contractor and am in and out of the bed of the truck all day every day and every stinking time I reach for the tailgate its locked and I have to fish the fob out of my pocket. The other thing is the exhaust brake wont work in low range. Truck with a 8500 # excavator and 2500# trailer and 10miles of downhill forest service road at 5 m.p.h. means I'm on the brakes the whole way down. Would be a piece of cake if the exhaust brake would come on. Any one know if it could be programed to work?

Just the fan clutch making noise for a minute when you first take off. Sounds like a city bus. Otherwise, great truck, no other complaints.

A rattle in the dash that I can’t find. If I “push” on the whole dashboard above the gauges it stops.

I can live with OK AC and everything else but that rattle makes me want to drive the truck off a cliff.

I’ve got one of those that showed up in last couple of days (5k miles).

The big screen is most annoying, the tech in my 2011 Ford was much more useful and friendly afaic. The audio system is just god awful in operation and capability in comparison.
So…I don’t touch it period, others do.

After an 1850 mile trip, I'm going to add one more item. I don't know if it's as much annoying as it is disappointing but my biggest disappointment so far is the garbage Nexen tires. Had there been an option for upgraded tires, I would have ordered them. Checked tread depth yesterday and the rears are already down 2/32 to 3/32 at less than 4k miles. At this rate I don't know if I'll get 15k miles out of them. Absolute garbage.

The Nexens on my 2018 were garbage too. A couple of them had to be replaced because of broken belts. Replaced all of them by 15k miles. The truck does pull about 17k 90% of the time but even with that they should have lasted longer than they did.

1. How blinding bright the screen is at night when you go into reverse or cut the truck off. Absolutely no need to go to full brightness.

2. Honking of the horn when its running and you close the door with out the keys inside.
