I'm not a car/truck guy, so forgive my ignorance please, only ever had basic trucks for work. I have a 3500 drw on order and I know stock tires are typically not great. Should I replace them before even taking the truck off the lot? Any savings by doing that? Or just run them and then get something better when replacement time comes?

Second part to my question is what tires are favored now? My truck will be both a daily driver as well as pulling a 13k fifth wheel. I'm retired so hopefully a decent amount of time will be pulling the 5er.

Thank you very much for any help.

I always wore out the original tires and then replaced them with Michelin LT tires. I get the impression the Nexans are junk. I also put Michelin XPS Ribs LT on the trailer after the originals are five years old.

If you decide to replace them, discount tire/America’s tire used to buy them (credit against your purchase). I want to say it was 140-150 per tire if they have good life left.

Do you see snow/mud at all? That would impact some of the “what tire” question.

Not much on the mud/snow. I live in Florida, so the only chance is when doing some side sightseeing travels when out with the 5er.

I have a 2021 with the Nexen tires and they are great. Every review I have seen on the 5th wheel forums are great. The only issue is they are not great on wet grass, but no road towing tire will be.
