What size/length are our hitch locks for the 25 2500 2.5" receiver?

I like that pin. Ordered one.
Be careful with the Bolt, especially on bumpy/gravel roads. Once I noticed the head gone when I arrived at a campground. Someone found it by a speed bump on the campground road and put it in the lost and found. It did not register what had happened as I thought I had not locked it properly or something. I replaced it just in case it was defective and less than a year later on a washboard gravel road, fortunately going about 10 MPH max, it happened again. This time the vibration also separated the TT from the truck. I felt it drop on to the safety chains and immediately stopped so fortunately no damage done. I then realized what was happening. The Bolts can pop off with enough bouncing around. I have also seen reviews that a good tap with a hammer can also pop them off. Now I use this type: https://amzn.to/4lpIe5T which has a pin in addition to the locking head. That size is plenty long. I actually use the following size so I could get two keyed alike: https://amzn.to/4fCAvAe The shorter one works, but just BARELY is long enough. Kind of a pain to get it on so would go with the longer one if they sold that size keyed alike.

Yep. Like many "security" things, it just slows down the thief. But sometimes, hopefully, sends them looking for an easier target. I put a cable lock through my two propane tank handles, lock my batteries, etc. also not because it can't be defeated, but because I hope that the tweaker looking for easy pickings, will keep walking. But stopping the professional thief? That is what insurance is for I guess. I just wanted to warn the OP about my, (and others), experience with the Bolt.
This: Buy once, cry once. Start collecting keyed-alike PacLocks...
I have them on receiver hitch, 5th hitch, boat trailer, atv trailer, etc.

I did like the idea of the truck key matching the pin lock. Oh well, for the times I use that hitch might go the Bolt route anyway.

I use a bulletproof hitch lock
It takes a cotter pin and it locks so it definitely won’t fall out. It has an O ring and a dust cap to keep muck out of the lock. After years of use the lock mechanism is still clean.

Yes, more of them are starting to use the pin along with the lock. If Bolt would just do that, they would solve the risk of the pin coming out of the receiver. You would still lose the head of the lock though. I only had an issue with them on bumps. Smooth highway driving I don't imagine they could come apart. I did have that one time with the campground speedbump though. After having it happen to me twice with two different Bolt pins, I have lost trust in that brand.
I agree this looks like a good system. Wish I had learned about them a couple of years ago. One key for all those different types of locks would be nice.
Ok so looking at these your saying i only need the 4 1/2 inch legth shaft to clear the hitch receiver and 4 1/2 will clear the drop down where the ball is connected to as well (Hitch locks)?
This would be great for just the receiver. Also looking for the hitch locks.
I was actually looking at these as bulletproof is a pretty reputable company. especially with your statment of youve been using them for years. obviously the will fit receiver however are they long enough to clear the hitch holes?
Again main question is, what legth do i need to clear both receiver and hitch for B&W. I greatly appreciate the advice on better locks however.
Unsure you have a BW hitch but are they long enough to fit this part as well? I know they will fit the 2.5 receiver.

That seems a bit excessive.
Yeah im not doing all that i just want 1 on the hitch for the drop.
You mean these? I have a few, all with matching keys to the hitchlock and padlocks as well.
Probably best to go direct to paclock's website and see all the different locks they make.

No I have a bulletproof because the b&w doesn’t clear everything like the bulletproof. Bulletproof is huge but my tailgate clears my jack and my drawers can be used still
have one lock on the hitch and one lock on the ball thing.
(Yes the one cotter pin is in the “wrong” hole, it’s a spare)

I use the Proven Industries Hitch Lock keyed to the Proven coupler lock, pricey but solid stuff. I have a collection of other brands that all failed, but hard to lock/unlock or just plain broke internally.
