It's my understanding that the ratio doesn't change, the amount of assist from the power steering does.

I want to report for all to be aware. I had a message deleated on the thread "gear indicator option in gauge cluster". I will not report who or the reason.

well I wanted to report that i was able to stick with my original goal of paying the new vehicle off in 4 months time. I agreed to the terms my s.m. lined out for me and the financing that he was able to provide based on the condition that I make the payments for 4 months so that way they can get there kickbacks and rebates also from the financing Which normally are finalized in 3-4 months. So I know it sounds a bit Braggy but am very proud of the deal I made and part of that deal is minimizing interest paid. Wich in the end came to be only $380 In interest of lost money. So i can officially say, i am the proud owner of the billet bee. Now it's time to start socking $$$$ away for that 48' luxe 26k fiver to make the big rig complete.

I had the same thing with the dealer I used. I called the finance company about a month into it, and they said that all the money the dealer would get had already been paid, and it made no difference to them if I paid it off early, so I did. In the end, with the interest I paid, I saved $700 on the truck cost for that deal.

So I thought I'd post what I did to my truck today on this site because sometimes when I put it on the "what did you do to your truck today" site, it can really ruffle some feathers and then things get said, so ill try to avoid a problem.
I drove 300 miles with the fiver house to our overnight stay that we reserved on the internet. They must of had a professional photographer because on the website it looked like a beauty but in person, it was the mf ing beast. What a dump, wasnt even room to open the slides. Couldn't turn around and had to back out. Mine is a 2016 and the next newest one looked to be built in the 70s. Wich I like 70s music but I ain't staying in Woodstock meth he'll. Couldn't get out of there fast enough, people were starting to look funny at us if yah know what I mean. So I got back on 80 and drove 70 miles closer toward reno were my wife called to see if they had an opening in a casino RV Resort. We pulled in, nice looking place but the national forest is on fire. Ohhhhhh boyyyyyy. We got the fire special on a site since we may have to evacuate. Sleep tight folks.
ALL vitals looked great today, coolant went up to its highest at 222 twice but the fan was running and it came right back down and we were climbing almost 8000 ft elevation and stuck behind a tractor going through the pass. She drank the def and i topped off with fuel at Sam's club . Sent my wife in to get me some goodies going through Sacramento. Tranny temp never went over 165, never showed a regen cycle, bolts fluctuated between 12.6- 14.1, outdoor temp was 109.
Hey I did learn something new today after 4 months of ownership. Yah know when your listening to satellite radio and that damn annoying singing kid commercial comes on, oh I'm sorry, I mean advertisement. All this time I kept just hitting the mute button and then hit it again a couple minutes later. An ill be damned if that same annoying kid wasn't still singing. So after 4 months im a little slow but finally realized that the mute button just pauses the mf ing thing. Good God . Then you go to fast forward to catch up, fyi mute is pause. Couple pics of the burning forest.

Omg dude, that's the one. It drives me through the roof, it just keeps going and going and going and going. Especially drags on forever when you hit mute. Who new that mute meant pause. Not me. That commercial causes road rage.

Yep - I don't do Sirius XM but when I lived in the DC suburbs I used to listen to sports radio. That damn commercial came on while I was sitting in a 2 hour commute of gridlock. So many times I thought about driving into the Potomac.

Rich,
Just wanted you to confirm that you’re able to keep your MX4 cover folded up while you’re towing, I thought I’d read that at some point but wanted to confirm before I pull the trigger.
Thanks,
Scott

You mean like this. 20200524_095525.jpgthere is more than plenty of room. I love that thing. Works, fits, looks great20200627_175354.jpg20200608_160248.jpg20200608_160140.jpgfyi, i decided to go with a longer tool box, so i couldn't push it all the way against headboard due to knobs that hold down mx4 hanging low. This is one of my favorite accessories, never owned one before and now ill never be with out one

Great, that’s exactly what I wanted to see/hear. I’m getting the B&W Companion RVK3600 which is basically the same as what you’ve got except you have an extra 5K towing capacity. Hoping to have a 5th wheel in the next month or so to put my Ram to work finally.

There is plenty of room clearance .,
The only down side, and it is a down side. When backing up to your fifth wheel to hook up to fiver head, you can't look out the back window to see the heighth of your pin box. You can see in your cargo camera perfectly to line up but just know that it takes some getting used to because Like i said you will not be able to look out the back window to see hitch because you can't see over bakflip.
But I would not trade my bakflip mx4 for anything, and the company has been great to work with as well.

So I was messing around and had an idea and wanted to see how it would come out. You all know that if you have a tonnue cover that you can no longer look out your back window to see fiver head while loading. The cargo camera works awesome for lining up but ( i ) can't tell the heighth of pin box in relation to fiver head while backing up.
Most of us know about turning an old phone device into a security cam where you use it as a camera only wich you can see on your active phone device ( wich needs an internet connection). So I downloaded Alfred Security Camera on both devices and use old phone as a camera and current phone as a monitor device.
I had a old school phone holder where you clamp one end on to something and then a long bendable wire and a phone holder at the other end.
So I had a hair brain idea, as you know I can have on occasion. Fasten the old school phone holder to my hitch puck legs assembly with black zip ties to keep it very secure so to keep it from vibrating and put phone into holder to see pin box level coming into fiver head. You can angle wich ever you prefer. I angled mine to not look down on fiver head as i have that view from cargo cam, but I placed it pretty much just above level of fiver head to show head level and pin coming into it as that is what I can't tell from cargo cam , is level pin box to level fiver head.
I think it came out pretty fair, won't really be able to get the full jist of it until after I attempt to hook up a couple times. I placed my 10" tablet in phone charger holder and it fit perfect and was a good spot for it to view old camera view from fiver head. Yes I know this isn't ideal but being an old truck driver, it's not in my nature to have my wife wo me up while I'm backing up while she adjusts pin box to loading level. My current fiver does not have the auto level feature that remembers the level at wich you unhooked at. But rest assured, the new one will. so hears some pics to laugh, comment, criticize, or suggest something to.

I know we have talked about this on another thread but i can't remember wich one so i thought I'd post here.
Wee have talked about the regen soot level %% gauge and how to tell when the truck is doing any auto regen and will it inform you. On my old 16 Cummins I had it would light up on the evic when it reached 80% and I would then get on the interstate for 10 minutes and it would go off. Today we were on our way back from Smith's grocery stocking up on 5 for $10 bottled cokes. Anytime I drive I check my tire psi s and the soot level %% in the evic settings because these are the only two things that I don't have on my main evic screen. When i got to regen %% , it showed this picture and that it was doing an auto regen. I was already on the interstate so I just stayed on and passed up my exit and gassed on it up to 90. after about 7 or 8 min it went off and back to empty gauge screen. I never recieved a warning or a beep or buzzer of any kind like I used to on my old 16 model. So i can only assume that i didn't get a warning because it wasn't at 80% or higher if in fact these new models even warn you or not when you reach a certain %% level. I would of never known it was in regen if i hasn't scrolled screens to check. I can not tell you what the percentage was when it fired up and kicked in as this advisory screen took over the percentage screen. I am relieved to know that it's working the way it should by auto regenerating. In my experience you need to start worrying about it once it quits doing it on it's own. My only complaint is that it didn't give me a warning of any kind that it was active or pop up on my main screen. I'm sure things have come along way since my days but again in my experience, the worst thing you can do when a truck is regenerating is to turn it off and shut it down and it's important to let it finish it's cycle.
