My truck is not used for work but rather for towing our 44’ GN car hauler. I don’t carry many tools in the truck unless I’m going on a trip with the trailer. As delivery approaches for my 26, I’m curious what sort of roadside emergency items you carry. This is my current stuff. What things are missing?
  • I have RAM DOT kit with triangles and flares from my ‘17
  • Fuses
  • Tq wrench, breaker bar, extension, sockets for truck/trailer
  • I carry impact wrench on trailer trips to change trailer tires
  • Code reader (need one for DPF regeneration???)
  • Wrench to disconnect battery
  • Trim tool and Small pick/screwdriver for neutral cover access - been reading about this problem!
  • Oil
  • Coolant
  • Battery Boost and cables

I probably carry way too much stuff but it’s come in handy more than once. I’m sure I’ll forget something but off the top of my head

Truck cab
-Flash light and headlamp
-my medic first aid kit
-Haltron fire extinguisher
-bluetooth Obd link
-seatbelt cutter/ glass breaker
-a few knives and personal protective devices
-lighter
-safety glasses
-snap lights
-emergency blankets
- blankets for traveling
-camping pillow
- spare clothes
-clothes for my toddler diapers wipes
-rain jacket
-helionix chair
-hot hands
-shower pouches
- jet boil

Toolbox
-Assortment of 1/4,3/8,1/2 sockets
-wrenches, pliers, volt meter, screw drivers
- small wiring kit
-jumper cables
-breaker bars
-1/2 electric impact
- hammer
- axe and shovel mounted to the lid with quick fists
- small canvas tarp
- ball mounts and hitches
- cattle sticks
- air hose and chucks
- ratchet straps assortment
- hot dog sticks (I’ve used these more often than you think
-tow strap
-soft and hard shackles
-bubba rope
-tire repair kit

I was a Boy Scout and being prepared always stuck with me. So I always just make sure I have something to work with, and it comes in handy. My brother and father in law also both farm so working on equipment in the middle of a field is common.

Giant truck, room for one person + safety gear and tools!! LOL

Off the top of my head - somewhere in the truck:

- Fuse kit of every type (three sizes for truck, two for my other cars, two for my camper, none in common)
- DEF injector
- Used fan belt
- Heater core plastic elbow

- Various hose clamps
- Spare WD hitch hardware (pins bolts, breakaway cable, etc) and a spare hitch (basic ball on shank
- Battery jumper pack
- 30" breaker bar, torque wrench, 1/2 drive ratchet, and impact socket set
- Tire plug kit
- Chocks, blocks, straps, bungies
- 2 gal water, spare dog bowl
- Magnetic bolt/nut tray, tube of grease
- Tool kit, ratchet straps, first aid, spare CCW, extra ammo, extra flashlights, charger, razor knife
- Cheap promo book bags (useful if needed to go mobile in an emergency), one or two packed with recovery gear (straps, shackles, axle and tree straps, etc)

In camper:
- More tools (full ratchet sets, etc), pex tools/pipe/fittings, spare wire, wire nuts, batteries, lights, first aid.
- Spare low beam bulbs
- Gallon of coolant concentrate
- Fuel filters (move to truck during long trips without camper)
- Spare air filter
- Gallon of oil and oil filter
- Quart of ATF

- Transmission thermostat
- Basic compressor
- Battery impact
- Bottle jack, wheel chocks, blocks
- 6 gal water plus tank
- Unmounted spare tire on long trips

- A basic code reader, my banks idash, and on longer trips the big Autel bidirectional.

And tools to accomplish any of those things. I carried a water pump and hoses before replacing that proactively last winter, and then the used ones (including tensioner and idler) for a few months until I trusted the replacements.

Had on-board air on last truck and would like to build a system on this one, eventually.

Many of the above items + ... toilet paper.
My wife always thought it was a bit funny until we were on a group trip and stopped at a forest service vault toilet that had no TP. We were the group hero.

My list is nowhere as complete as the few listed above. I try to have basic tools, flashlights and recovery gear and long jumper cables, warm clothes and blanket for winter, snacks and drinks/water, that's about it. A folded up length of baling wire and some duct tape can be handy items to have.

I recently meant to add a roll, good reminder, will do so. Really useful item to have along!

Whatever I can fit in my tool box. I have considered finding room for my Hobart Welder in the 5ver, although it wouldn't do much good on the side of the road with no power source.
