What did you do TO your RAM today?

I have a hard enough time getting the little square pipe on the gear to lower wheel, I'd never make a good tire thief.
The lock actually helps with that. The little square black pipe, which is pretty much invisible, is replaced by a larger silver-colored tube. It is much easier to insert the rod into that hole than it is to get the socket to fit over the little square black pipe. The lock is like the locking lug nuts: its a keyed nut that is all the way at the far end of the tube, protected from the elements by the tube. Of course, if the tube rusts, or if the cotter pin that holds the whole thing to the winch rusts, then you are in trouble.

Makes better sense now. The fact that making it easier to lower tire makes it all worth it to me ty

Loaded up all my gear in the truck and getting ready to travel for 2 straight days. Has to put air in the rri as I have a 4" extension that leaked out 7lbs over a month time. Was at half tank on def so I put a 2.5 jug in to fill it up. Put 43 gal of fuel in tank and added my first round of the good stuff , 2oz of edt and let it run for 10 minutes. Gave her a quick bath were she was dusty from a long bath over a wk ago.

I looked at the 2500 hooked up to the gooseneck and decided to inquire about a 2020 longhorn......starting the dance- wish me luck!

I will.......uh, I work on em then turn em over to the wife to finish em off. She negotiates multi million dollar contracts and is the master penny pincher. I figure it is prime time since 2021 ordering is started up.

That's my secret weapon also, sending the red headed Yankee wife in, deal done. Good luck and keep us posted, were excited to hear from yah

Rich, how did you know my wife was an Irish redhead? LOL! I thought mine Was original and they broke the mold......at least that is what she has always told me. Me gots to get my pencil sharpened up again for all the notes that will be shot back and forth. Will post progress as warranted.

But what did you do TO your Ram?

Sent from my work avoidance device
Well, actually......nuthing , but I did move it over a few feet in the driveway and said nice things to it as I drove my trusty rusty past to go to town. LOL!

I got whoppers and quarter pounders, but brutal did suggest nicely so we should probably keep mine and his good streak going. So ill comply :)

Well, last month I installed TorkLift's Magnum 30K hitch and their camper tie downs. I needed the hitch so I can use the super truss I kept when I traded in my 2016 Ram 3500 Limited SRW for my 2020 3500 Limited DRW. It gives me the option of towing a trailer, boat or whatever I want behind when I have our camper on.
And today I installed the Ram mud guards I picked up on Amazon. The price was slightly higher than on the mopar online sites, but the shipping was free, unlike the mopar online sites that seem to be charging ridiculous shipoing charges these days. At least whenever I go to checkout. Fitment up front was very good. Out back, it could have been a little better at the bottom. But it'll work.

Here I thought u might be able to use the factory bed step with the superhitch but looks like that's a hard no. Also looks like you have to take the factory receiver right off and replace with the superhitch correct?

Yup, if the truck is on, they are on. There is no way to toggle them on/off via radio settings or any other factory equipped provision. You can use AlfaOBD to disable them. The settings changes would be-
CBC Config I/O Usage front park/signature lamp left pin A7- NO

2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat. Front park/signature lamp right pin A5- NO

Signature drop out enabled just means that when the turn signal is used, that headlight’s signature lights drop out.
Anyone know if the DRLs can be adjusted with AlphaOBD as well? I have a Canadian spec which keeps the low beams on as daytime running lights along with the signature lights. In my opinion the signature lights would be more than enough for DRLs and it would look way better with just them on.

Is that adjustable through the radio setting?I know on my Tradesman I can set DRL on/off, and other light functions.

Yes, hard no on the bed step. And yes, have to remove factory hitch. My 2016 I had previously was just an add on hitch below the factory. But that was for the 20K hitch. For 2020, all that was available was 30K complete replacement. Hardest or scariest part was unbolting the rear of the bed and lifting just the rear to remove it. You do need to loosen the remaining forward bed bolts to allow it to move up. Only needed to lift it about 6 inches. While the factory hitch isn't too bad to lift, the Magnum is a beast. Even in pieces.

Yes, DRL changes can be made with alfaOBD.

Looks like there's no settings for it on the Canadian models. I was hoping there might be a way to "unlock" it thru alphaOBD.

I don't have access to my Windows version right now to check, but I'm pretty sure the DRL country can be changed in addition to enabling it on the radio screen and changing the lights used.
