Ouch. 28mm is the correct size, also use a 6 point socket rather than a 12 point.

Yepper, figured that out the hard way. I have the 28 6pt now.
 
Installed the sumos springs

The jury is still out if these will make any difference whatsoever when it comes to putting the golf cart in the bed and adding the 800 pound tongue of the camper.

I took them out for a test drive and really gave it some juice going over bumps to try and see if they were engaging or not with “normal” driving. I was surprised to find that there was zero difference in the feel of the truck… Even while hitting train tracks or bumps where they probably started to engage, it wasn’t noticeable. You can see in the pictures there is not a ton of space between the sumo and the axle contact point… Definitely made me nervous at first since everything I saw recommended having at least 1 inch of space… I didn’t measure it but ballpark I have about 1/2 inch between the bump and the axle side..

Night and day difference over when I had them on my 1500 and absolutely hated the kit that was made for it. Though to be fair I love the ride of the 2500 and really didn’t like the soft 1500 suspension at all.

Those should do pretty well. It's surprising how many 4x4 owners have no idea just how much the tire tread and compound affects vehicle performance in snow and off-road. I saw another post today on a Facebook page from some guy asking how his model of truck does in the snow since he's nervous about the storm. Most replies said they do great, with just a few stating that it all depends on the tires, and that his skateboard-style wheels and tires were mostly useless for snow and ice.

Good to see you are preparing properly!

Meanwhile up here on the Idaho/Washington border, we are having the most mild winter since 1983. We have not gotten more than an inch of snow all winter. It's crazy! And if things don't change, the mountains will burn badly this summer.
 
Installed 37x12.50R17 Milestar Patagonia XTs on 8" rims with 0 offset today. 2.5" leveling kit up front. Minor rubbing on plastic wheelwell liner. I'll do some trimming tomorrow to take care of that. And fix my bumper. Hit some dirt off-roading last month and tweaked it up.

The previous tires looked small, and these look just about right. I wanted a wider and taller tire for the desert trails I'll be on in March in Arizona.

I have about 8k miles on the Patagonia’s with factory 20’s. They make a little more noise than the Trashforce but have been great so far here in the snow belt. Interested in hearing how they do off road. Hard to beat them for the money IMO.

My dad runs them on his Jeep in Arizona and loves them. Previous tire I ran was the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT and it was amazing. But, it was also $466 vs. $322 for the Patagonia XT in 37s.
