What did you do TO your RAM today?

My add a packs just arrived today so will be installing next week probably. Pretty straight forward install?
Yes, very easy. Just make sure you use c clamps to hold the leafs togeather before removing the pin ( it all in the directions). You have options, the stock setup has 3 what I will call “spacers“ and an overload spring. I removed the overload spring but kept the 3 spacers, that gave me the maximum ride height. So with the 3.25 coils up front the truck sits pretty much level. You can see them in the attached pic.

Thanks for the picture, I’m trying to achieve as little lift as possible to pair with my Thuren .5” coils I bought. I’ll probably keep the 3 spacers and I wasn’t planning to use the 1” blocks. I also bought Thuren shackles that have a .5” lowering position.

Finally changed the rear end fluid. Used Amsoil 75w140
Just a little bit of metal on the magnet. Looks like a good pattern.
Reused the gasket. I'll order one for the next change though.

Had a guard cat making sure I wasn't attacked while under the truck.

just keep in mind if you tow a RV or heavier trailer that your rear end will sag. I put the add a pack on my '13, then added Sumo springs to try helping, but ended up taking them out and putting the overload spring back in.

Interestin, the whole concept of Carli’s add a pack vs there full leaf spring replacment is the add a pack retains the stock load capacity and the full leaf replacement gives you a better ride but reduce load capacity .

Description - Add pack

The 5 leaf progressive add a pack rear springs replace the lower overload leaf on the factory leaf spring pack (1″ thick leaf that doesn’t follow the contour of the rest of the pack) with 5 thinner gauge leaf spring designed to maintain the factory load capacity while increasing mobility of the spring. Improved traction and predictability are immediately noticeable and as is a much-improved ride off-road and when loaded.

Description - Full leaf spring

These full length progressive spring packs are built by Deaver Spring Mfg specifically for Carli Suspension. These springs were designed as a two stage spring pack, enabling the truck to still have a admirable weight capacity while offering smooth and comfortable street driving performance. For balanced on and offroad comfort. These leaf springs are designed for the Daily Driver and Weekend Warrior. Ideal for work and play!

The add pack doesn’t decrease weight carrying capacity, but it has a lower overall spring rate so it will sag more under the same weight than with the oem setup.

Long travel airbags would allow for no additional sag under higher RAW’s, but the improved ride and flexibility empty.

Yes I expect a little extra sag as the overload is pretty much a no give stop for the other leafs. At the same time the movement of the add a pack 5 leafs should smooth out loaded driving as well. I didn’t want to go full leaf pack as I want as much of factory capacity and don’t want to run bags if I don’t need and not spend another $1k for Carli long travel bags plus $1k ish for a nice onboard air system.
