What did you do TO your RAM today?

Just for reference, I just swapped a brand new one onto my truck. The tailgate itself from the dealer was $320, and paint was $300. Everything else swapped over from the old one, although it looks like you might need a new top cap.

Local dealer wants $490 for a tailgate and $500 to paint. $490 is more than retail that I see for PN 68394211AE

LOL.

I found one online with shipping (maybe local warehouse?) for $396 delivered.

I wonder if it's worth trying to get repaired.

Finally installed the tailgate damper. Local dealer ordered it for me, $32. Shipping took over a month (dealer said it would be 2-3 days ).

Got my amp research power steps installed, took two days and a call to tech support, turned out the posilock connectors they sent for the trigger wires were not making contact, I replaced them with spade connectors(after tech support having me ground them to ensure that nothing else was wrong). I don't have pictures yet but I will say, never again. For $1600 the instructions look like they were drawn by a meth head coloring book illustrator. I told tech support, after he had me take a picture of a connection to make sure I plugged it in to the correct place and email it to him, and he commented on how clear the picture was, that they should think about putting actual pictures in their instructions instead of ****ty drawings.
Anyways, like the steps, install was a pain, if I ever do it again, someone else(factory or dealer) will install them.

Damn, prices have gone up since I last looked at those. Sorry the install sucked, but this makes me very happy I opted to order my truck with steps. Especially since the factory option was $600 less.

The price I paid was to get them now, I found them around $1400 but wouldn't get them for like 4 weeks, every place I tried. Found one that got them to me(from amp research) in about a week, so I paid for convenience of getting them now. I don't think I had the option to get factory steps on my tradesman.

Ahh, that makes sense
