What dashcam are you guys using?

I Run Rexing cameras in my personal truck, all my shop trucks, my beater car, and my wifes car. They're reasonably priced, have pretty good video, and so far they've been very reliable. My biggest issue when I first started using dash cameras is they would die, i assume from the heat of baking on the windshield in the summer.

I will say also, just as important as the camera itself, is an extremely high quality memory card. I ran cheap cards for a while and it wasn't worth it, I'd be driving around thinking I was protected for months, only to randomly check the footage for something novel I might have seen to show somebody and found the card hasn't recorded anything in 3 months, or is completely corrupt.

Whatever camera you get, make sure you pick out an extremely well reviewed high performance Memory card to minimize your risk of being SOL in a situation where you really needed the footage. It's definitely worth the extra $15 for a quality card vs taking a gamble and possibly being labeled at fault for an insurance claim cause your camera didn't work and the other guy had a more convincing story.

You're right that heat is the main enemy of these cams. A lot does come from baking in the sun. Sometimes the sun is able to shine into the lens at the right angle and instantly cook the internals of the camera. But more than anything else it's the quality of the components - which is what we are really paying for.
Units like Black Vue for example are going to have higher quality components with better heat sinks while the least expensive units use the least expensive components possible. This results in PC boards that expand and shrink - breaking solder joints - or undersized (or missing) heat sinks that fail to direct heat away from sensitive components and these cameras do generate a lot of heat on their own.
When it comes to SD cards Sandisk is the industry standard, but even within that brand some are better than others. The cheapest Sandisk is no better than any other brand out there. You pay for what you get.

I have one in my 2025. I did the online chat and sent a picture and they tell you which one is correct. I think the 24s use the same one.

The little triangle cover was a pain , otherwise very easy install.
If yours looks like this one should fit. I was told to order a Model "C"

Just take a pic of the rear view housing in your truck and match it to the model on their website. It's going to differ depending on what options your truck has.

I've been running a Viofo A129 Pro dual in my 1500 for 5-6 years and it's been solid, so I just installed a Viofo A229 Pro dual in the 3500. The 4K is pretty clear. There was a hit-and-run in front of us at a stoplight once and we showed the video to the cop that arrived on scene and he was amazed at the clarity and was able to see the runner's plates very clearly.

Viofo A329 here. 4k @ 60fps. Super clear, and works really well.

Viofo A119 V3, cheaper than other Viofo dash cams and does the job well. Recently gave my insurance company a copy of the video where a deer ran onto the highway and hit the left front corner of my truck....they can't question what caused the over $5K in damages.

I run Rexing also - pretty good cam for the money. Why I use one for guys like one riding the motorcycle.

I've used 4-5 , viofo has been more reliable than the expensive cameras. I wish Tesla would sell their tech to the HD truck market. It integrates everything so well, especially their sentry cameras
