Well..... Goodbye 1500. Hello 2500. She has finally arrived!

About a week before you picked up your 2025 I purchased a certified used 2024 at Bill Luke Santan.

Mine is treating me good. How is yours treating you?

Truck looks great, @Slutzk !
Nice! Yeah i actually picked mine up from Bill Luke in Phoenix. 3rd truck from them. No issues and great, they have always beat out every single dealer in the state actually and even Mark dodge at the time to make the sale.

Well so far so good, i have zero complaints and love it from the little that i have driven it. I bought it, drove it daily till i put 390 miles on it, then parked it in the drive way on a battery tender and been sitting ever since, been 5 weeks now lol

Thank you!

You're welcome! I got mine from Bill Luke Santan. Second vehicle I've purchased from them and both purchases were an excellent experience.

So I've seen a lot of pre-owned 2500 for sale at dealerships that were previous rental vehicles. Are those safe to buy?

How about under 20,000 miles for a one year old 2500 with the Hemi?

Bought from a reputable new car dealership?

I tried to get the lowest mileage truck I could find in my area. I had to drive a hour and a half to buy it. I wanted low idle hours also, but they are rental trucks. I paid $40,800 for mine. It's pretty well equipped for a Big Horn these days, and it doesn't have a big ass 12" screen, which I despise. Mine had 11,800 miles when I picked it up June 10th. 20250610_154244.jpg

Yeah at that point you are just purchasing a used vehicle. So your regular inspections of what to look out for applies. Go take a look at em, drive them, check engine/idle hours, check maintenance history, etc.

Buying a used truck is relative to everyone. You have individuals who wouldnt buy anything but new and some who'd never buy new. Have some that wouldnt mind 20k-50k miles with some who would never touch 20-50k miles. Then you have people who have no problem buying 150k plus miles on them. Just depends. Like i said its kind of hard to answer that as everyone's opinion on that is different. If you asking are they reliable after 20k miles? Id argue its barley broken in, and for a rental most of those are given away because their personal truck is in the shop so its most the time just driven as a daily. But again just go take a look at them, if you like it, pull the trigger and enjoy!

Mine was purchased used with 4500 miles on it. From Nashville and it too was a rental unit. Basically new, a few minor scratches here and there but the interior was like brand new! Also the bed liner is pristine, looks like nothing was ever hauled in there.

Well.... im officially a HD truck owner. Had it custom built to order and had arrived for pick up.
2025 RAM 2500 BH. V8 HEMI. Crew Cab. 6'4 bed. 4.10 gear. Fully loaded.
Before i picked it up i had them install the Thuren 2" leveling kit with Thuren trac bar and front/rear Bilstein shocks.
Tire are Toyo OC AT3 35x11.5r20 (stock wheel.... i do not have any spacers)
Just need to get the tint done, PPF and done! Coming soon.

I bought mine back in June with 21K miles from Carvana and it was a rental. Fairly well equipped but lacking heated seats and remote start. I already have the KaodTech cable and keyfob. As soon as I have time to find the purple wire to weld on a resistor, I'll activate the remote start with JScan. Be sure to get under the truck and tighten the starter cables. I had no start problems, even after attempting to jump start it and it would start. Turned out to be a loose starter cable.

I recently purchased a 2024 2500 from Carvana also. Mine was a lease / rental from Montana with 21K miles too. I also had a loose starter cable at the starter!! interesting.

I am researching installing a remote start - found aftermarket ones -- but see on several sites that the 2024 is probably wired for it already and just hood latch and programing / different key fobs. Looking for definitive instructions. Dealer says they have never heard of this and that truck in NOT prewired.

Researching.

Your dealer is unsmart.

Since these posts, JScan has cracked the code for programming FOB on 19-24 trucks.
