Water in fuel icon

Had the icon popup when I went to start the truck. No issues before I parked it a couple hours earlier, I drained the filters and captured the fuel from the rear filter and only diesel came out. Could it just be a sensor, truck only has 4200 miles on it and have had zero issues until now.
It is at dealership now service writer tried to tell me water may of gotten past the filters, which not sure how that would happen since truck was running fine. Since it is push button start it never tries to start, just the icon and 5 beeps.

Unless your filter was full of water there should be no water getting past the filter..

Thanks what I thought, When I opened the rear I was able to capture it and was only fuel no water. It is at a dealership that I did not purchase it from as they were the closest. They are in no hurry to look at it said it will be a couple days before they looked at it.
