I've turned the base down to -4 but everything is still full of base; radio, XM, AA and Spotify. Currently have the system set to surround sound. 26 2500 limited Longhorn.

Mind sharing your EQ settings to make music sound the way it's intended?

Turn off the surround sound to start. Crank the treble and mid and keep bass flat. I found that makes a big difference.

Which factory stereo? Mine is the HK system. I haven’t done base and treble up high and mids down a few notches from zero. It’s certainly not overly bassy like that in my truck.

Really? Too much bass? ...... I have been contemplating getting a stand alone powered subwoofer to add more!
Factory sound is way too "tinny" sound. My bass is all the way up and mid / treble is flat and it still barely has any bass....
All depends on what you want to hear...

Not that I know much but I always thought the negative side of the scale increased the bass response. I've got mine on -2 (IIRC) and treble on +1 and I think it sounds great. Much, much better than our 2004 OEM JBL (9 speaker) equipped 4Runner.
