In the install video they don't relocate the clutch. They just clock the housing on the winch to put the clutch release at the bottom and then they swap the handle on the release 180 degrees. The control box does get relocated under the hood.@VICE Design, I didn't see mention of a clutch relocation kit on this one. I'm not familiar with that winch; is it even necessary?
Sounds like a really fun rig!! I had a look for a photo of it but couldn't find one. would love to see it!Man, if this was available like 2 years go, I would have 100% bought one. As it stands, my truck is now a much more dedicated off-roader, so it's got all sorts of high clearance bumpers on it, but I've got to say I've been looking for something like this since day 1.
I am sure you're gonna sell quite a few of these things.
Stoked to hear. Ready when you're readyI have other things on my list to get done that are ahead of this but it's definitely on my to-do list.
Appreciate it. Its a long time coming. Had daily emails about it and always thought it wasn't possible, but turns out I just had to try a lot harder. Big shoutout to my customer who let me use his new truck for a couple weeks for the development.Man I just want to compliment on this kit, looks great! I doubt I really need a winch but I want one now![]()

Good to know. It was the skid plate that had be wondering about access to the clutchWas able to design this one so that piece of kit isn't necessary. The clutch is easily accessed through the opening in the valence, and we also have the opening in the skid plate strategically placed so you can access it through there.
Its shown in this part of the video:
Right? and honestly I never hit the limit of my old 12k smitty even with direct pulls. But its reassuring having the extra power and build quality of the HD winch. Becomes a question of am I willing to give up a little bit of function for a whole lot of form. Gonna keep me up all monthYou could always use a snatch block to increase your pulling power. And I agree with you, the Vice mount I have on my truck is built solid, it is a well made product.

We're working on testing others. There's not much space behind there and to keep the bumper nice and tight we based the kit around the VR EVO because its the most compact 12k winch we've used. It also comes with a wireless remote and its just so easy to mount and use. Its a few pesos more than the ZXR but we sold over 500 of them and only processed 1 warranty issue. Will any other winch work? Dimensionality, looks like the badlands zxr 12000 will fit and is clockable.
Badlands ZXR compatibility would be awesome.
Any chance at offering a bumper insert that looks factory (with honeycomb design) and small opening for the winch line?
Ready to order but Im curious if the new Warn Zeon XD would work. Apparently the XD series is about .5 inch slimmer all around than the Zeon. Maybe 1/2 inch spacer vs 1/4? Just curious. Thanks
I appreciate that. I agree with the EVO being good enough to send it, I just like the fact the new XD does have a 14k version and the entire line is rated IP68k and IP69K for 30 mins submersion and high pressure spray and not made in China.I will look into it for you you in more depth, but upon a quick look it appears to be the same winch with "bolt new graphics". Still uses the 5 bolt endcap which means it can only be clocked in 72 degree increments. For comparison the EVO uses an 8 bolt spacing so you can clock it every 45 degrees which is required to point the clutch handle in the correct direction. The other issue is that with the winch feet facing forward, the electrical contacts point towards the intercooler where we're limited on space. No Wireless controller too, while the less expensive EVO comes with a wireless controller. Zeon does come with a better quality synthetic line, so if it were me, I'd get the EVO, and buy some high quality Warn Spydura winch line and swap it out if you damage or break the average rope the evo comes with.
