If you create a custom Home Screen, you make Waze be the half screen. In this instance, you simply select HOME on bottom left and swipe to the custom screen that has Waze. If you view via CARPLAY, it’s full screen or whatever you seeMine will randomly disconnect my iPhone, and "sometimes" reconnect.
Sometimes the presets will include AM stations and sometimes not.
Also, I don't understand why the Waze map in only available in full screen mode, not 1/2 screen.
Welcome to the (not) wonderful world of "UConnect"... When it works, it's ok, but don't count on it being reliable. Now I've had the truck for almost 4 weeks. Lots of tech and I love this truck. I thought I would love the big screen but it seems buggy. Sometimes touches do not respond, car play is there then not and then it is there again. If I touch the Nav button, it comes up half the time or turns black (blank screen). I would prefer real buttons even if the screen was half the size. Is there a reset or update that would address this? just curious.
I hear you. I was hopeful because uconnect 4 had its issues. It seems this giant screen is mostly for looks. There is some cool tech in this truck but I wish companies would truly test stuff before releasing it. Like the engine sounding like ****. They say it's normal. Really? I mean it seems to run well right now but damn if it's not a squeaky mess when it's cold. It does quiet some when it's warmed up. Some of my problem may be Apple as well. If I reboot my phone, it seems to solve some problems.Welcome to the (not) wonderful world of "UConnect"... When it works, it's ok, but don't count on it being reliable.
I've had one "box" (receiver I think, it's not part of the "head unit") about a year ago. It worked for about 6 months, BUT it changed and deleted some Navigation setup options. It also screwed up some Sirus channel availability. According to Sirus, the hardware was not supported.
A more common (unresolved) is the intermittent warning display that you need to go to an authorized service department. Two months ago, I had the Telemetrics Module and Harness replaced. This repair lasted two, maybe three weeks, and reappeared intermittently. The only other repair is to replace the "shark fin" and the cable to it. This has been known Stellantis, Dodge, RAM, Jeep, Chrysler UConnect issue.
My local dealer Service Advisor has been great to work with up to this last issue. Unfortunately, the Service Manager jumped in and basically said only come in when it comes back. Additionally, he said he would not offer a loaner because this was not a "driveability" issue, even though the truck is still under warranty.
As for assistance from "RAM Cares" and whatever Stellantis calls themselves today, don't hold your breath. RAM Cares is slow to respond (unless you call), and phone support sucks!
Sorry for the rant, DM for a more detailed rundown of the "quality" support Stellantis offers..
Mine actually connects to the phone really quick and the buttons on the screen just seem to be really sensitive about where you click them. My podcast app plays but half the time it just makes the screen black. I re-boot the phone and it goes away and works normally. So, it's apple on that one and it's not fixed with 18.1. Overall it works well but I do not like the huge screen. It is pointless and I would rather have real controls for climate and cameras, etc.Their fix is “… It needs 10-15 minutes and or miles to detect your phone.
It’s not a phone issue, it’s UConnect.
Mine is hit or miss. I've gotten over it being available at or soon after start-up. I'm more pleased (at least for now) I'm not getting the "UConnect Error..." message all the time.Mine actually connects to the phone really quick and the buttons on the screen just seem to be really sensitive about where you click them.
