Verify this tire will work with my stock wheels?

Thanks everyone... Seems the BFG 35x12.5R17's are not available in my region, at least at all the 12 or so vendors I called.

They do have a lot of the metric version: 315/70R17 121S RBL

Anyone have these on their PW?
Sorry that is what I have on my 2022 PW with bead locks.

Question for anyone that knows:
On the BFG 315/70R17 tires, they are listed as Load Range E, 121/118S.

Why the 2 designations 121/118?

They are the load index ratings. The first index is the rating for a single tire and the second is for if it is paired with another for a dually. 121 = 3197lbs single and 118 = 2910lbs dually.

Also a useful web page for determining what a good/comparable tire pressure would be for your particular vehicle. You can see the 35" E rated tire has the same load carrying capacity of the D rated tire at 65 hence why lower pressures are needed to correct tire footprint. Wheel width can have an affect on the footprint as well. Most people with the PW like 45ish front and 40ish rear.

@BigSexy 64

Do you notice any issues with it being 10ply (of the 315/70R17's) vs the 6ply (of the 35x12.5's)?

I'm thinking when I eventually put a camper on my rig the 10ply may be of benefit..
All load range E tires are 10 ply. 6 ply are C rated. Both the 35 and 315 sizes have a max load of 3195 lbs at 65 PSI. You are literally just choosing between .25" of tread width with the 315 being slightly narrower than the 35

Hmm, could have sworn I read the 35x12.5 bfgs were 6 ply.. Maybe I read it wrong.. Thanks for all the info....

BFGoodrich does make 3 versions of the tire in 315/70/17 - one is E rated and the other two are varying degrees of C rated - 6 ply. You wouldn't want to go lower than 8 ply (what the truck comes with) so just be sure you buy the E rated version.

The lower C rated are designed for smaller vehicles like Jeeps who want the size of tire but don't need the load capacity.

Yeah, what jetrinka said. I actually think mine rides better with the BFGs than it did with the stock Goodyears, and looks much better.

Goodyear Duracrap. I will admit the Duratrac is a dead sexy looking tire but I have never been impressed with them. Had a set on a 02 Grand Cherokee and once they wore out I gladly swapped them to the KO2
