Just purchased a brand new 23 Ram night edition.

The dealer mounted the front plate bracket just by the bottom two screws, which were haphazardly screwed into the air dam.

The top screws holes were not being utilized because they would have had to use nylon screw backers.

The chewed up holes look terrible.

I'm am livid. I live in Ohio and do not even require a front plate and had already planned on buying the color matched bumper plugs for the two factory holes, but now I have these 2 other very unsightly holes.

The plate was already on the vehicle when I purchased the truck and I just thought the only the factory drilled holes were being used.

I plan on calling the dealer today.

Talk to the dealer before you get too worked up about it, they will probably replace it.

Dealer is an idiot to do that. Send pics and tell them to ship you a new air dam.

I bought the vehicle from 7 hrs away

Clean up the holes and go down to home depot and buy a couple of plastic panel plugs and pop them in there then, it will hardly be noticeable. Or maybe the dealer can ship you a new air dam and you can swap it out.

Try sending some pictures to the dealer. I'd bet they'd send you a new one or have buy one out at a local dealer for you to go pick up.

Or make the truck sexier and remove the air dam!

Sounds like the perfect reason to buy the CJC Intercooler guard.

Had to of been a new salesman do this, the trucks come with a plastic plate mount you attach on the bumper.

I agree the dealer will prolly take care of it if you send them pics.

It's not haphazard, it's a feature lol. The Mopar front license plate bracket is poorly designed so that the screws go into the valance at an angle. Following to see if they replace it for you, I suspect not. Great suggestions above for "repairing" it. There were tiny indicator dimples in the valance where they put those screws.

Well, spoke to my saleman, who has been great, he said to go to my closest dealer and get the air dam replaced and send them a copy of the bill and they will take care of it.

I'm pretty happy with that, my salesman said they are telling the lot techs to just use the factory holes with nylon things.

Bought my truck in Ohio and the front license frame was in a bag under the back seat. Installed the color matched plugs in the bumper today.

It's an option added for any truck delivered to a state that requires a front plate but the dealers install them in prep.

If you're taking delivery of the truck in another state and you don't need it, make sure you tell them well in advance, and get it in writing, that they are not to install it.

Honestly I'd just rip the airdam off and install one of the CJC intercooler guards. IMO the front of the trucks look way better without the airdam on there. If you don't like that look then yea I would bitch to that dealer and make them ship you a replacement airdam. They're not hard to replace.

Did you ever get this replaced? I replaced mine in favor of the CJC one and still have the take-off ; depending how far you are from Cincy, you can have it.

They did pay to replace it and it's all done. I really appreciate the offer though! I just happen to be close to cincy too!

I'd just keep the bracket on and add a "BEEF" tag to it. You'll get more chicks that way. :D
