VENT: Not the greatest experience with Granger

How that tin hat fit? Its seem very rare for any dealer to let any buyer hire a transportation company to go and get a truck from a lot. On there orders thread there are plenty of guys waiting in the same situation as you with a truck waiting on a ride to the dealership and it takes forever. It sucks but its just a part of how all of this seems to go.

I understand you're frustrated with your experience but tossing out speculative stuff like this without any real evidence doesn't help anyone.
It very well could help someone avoid the same headache, like many of the people PM'ing me with similar issues, that's the whole point of the thread. I was CRYSTAL clear that it was just my opinion with no evidence. But you are probably right, simple capitalism at play here or a complex breakdown of every part of the ordering, manufacturing and distribution processes? Occam's razor and all.

And FCA told me as much I just can't independently prove it. This was back in June after the truck was built while the dealer was telling me it had already shipped (which it hadn't).

To their credit, Zach seems to address issues here on the forum. He reached out to me several days after I had placed my order with MD.
I'm actually somewhat surprised he hasn't popped into this thread yet.

tough to complain about a dirty store and disorganized shelves when you're the one that found that thing you wanted for 25-30% off at the dollar general when you could buy it from a cleaner more organized shop up the road and pay full pop. 4% under invoice NOW is flat out charity. gotta buy a rav4 for the kid and so wish i could find a toyo store that would do anything like that....

Like any other online community, it only takes one (or a few) out of hundreds or thousands to be very vocal with a real or perceived bad experience.

Unless someone PM'd Zach or linked/tagged him to the thread, it's possible to be overlooked. If you're aware of someone that's in a position to resolve a problem, I don't know why you wouldn't reach out to that person. It's not clear to me in the thread this was done. That said, not every problem needs to be aired in public.

Dealers are in a tough spot these days and seems it's hard to please everyone, every time.

As to the never to be seen comment, all new/refreshed/zombie threads boil to the top and can be easily seen in "What's new/New posts/Latest activity."

To be fair you are the one who asked him to make a new thread…

To be fair, I didn't remove the cross-posts in multiple threads either...

Every post and thread here is fully searchable using the site search or Google or Bing, DuckDNS, etc. IOW, information here is easily found without thread crapping everywhere on the site.

So which is it? Everything’s easy to find or no one pm’d him? You’re the mod…

Looking at the granger that earlier, Zach asked the OP to PM him and said he'd look into it.

Not sure if that was before or after he made this thread, however.

I ordered from Granger March 25th. It got built on May 21st and May 25th the finance department emailed me saying it was shipped. I got really excited until I found the RAM tracking page and found it hasn't actually shipped yet. I don't know why they do that. It is frustrating. It got delivered on the 4th and I picked it up on the 16th. It was pretty frustrating knowing it was there but I couldn't get it yet, especially since my old truck was on it's last leg. Seeing how many sold vehicles are on their lot is easy to see why it took that long though. Shelby in the finance department was great to deal with. We signed the paperwork online and probably spent 10 or 15 minutes at the dealer picking up my truck. That was pretty awesome.

Closing the loop, Truck was finally delivered. After delivery they refused to program the ordered keys and wanted to charge 1k for some other kind of "remote start kit with older style keys" but they were not sure it would even work. I was done messing around with them so I opted to just get it done somewhere else. They offered to sell me the keys they ordered but still refused to program them, I passed on that as well.

They wanted to mail me paperwork and get a wet signature and mail it back. Seemed pointless to delay days mailing around paperwork so I asked why I could not just sign when I pick up the truck and they ended up being fine with that. (why on earth that was not the default plan is beyond me...)

Filling out the delivery checklist I had to check a box and sign stating I was informed about an exhaust recall (which I was not), when I asked about it they had no idea what it was. I decided I would just figure it out later checked the box and moved on...

They also forgot to credit my deposit toward the purchase during financing but once I pointed that out they got it corrected.

In the end I got the truck I ordered for the price I was promised so I don't think they are crooks or anything. While I still cant in good conscience recommend them If you do decide to use them just plan on triple checking EVERYTHING and having things that should be a simple given be a hassle. I also would advise not doing any sort of addons as it was a huge headache with a ton of back and forth only to turn up empty handed.

P.S. I walked into my local dealership and got remote start and new 5 button fobs added the next day with no hassle whatsoever.
