My 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie Cummins 4WD had a V06 Recall. I took it for an alignment and they said it needed to be complete, so I took it to the dealership when they told me the recall was completed in June of 2016. They lifted the truck and showed me that a recall was never done, and the dealership refuses to fix it.

It’s a safety issue when the recall was announced. I almost positive they have to complete a recall no matter how old the truck is. Also purchase the 19+ drag link to replace it.

That’s impossible. The recall came out in 2019 I believe. Tell them to show you the electronic service records to prove it.

I meant June of 2019 sorry
Try contacting RamCares and show them pictures. Maybe they can do something. Maybe call Ram directly?
IMO, the shop is just giving you a cop out on alignment. The alignment adjustments (camber, caster, toe) can be made without touching the drag link. It only centers the steering wheel if needed.
My shop did it with the caveat that they wouldn’t touch the drag link.

V06 is the worst recall for these trucks and I declined it, along with 67A (another terrible recall). Welding your draglink solid covers their butt from liability, but also makes it so you can't get your steering wheel straight after an alignment. My advice is find a different alignment shop that will do an alignment anyways. Goodyear has always aligned mine. Worst case have them do the caster and toe, then fix the draglink to center your steering wheel in your driveway. Specialized alignment equipment is not needed to center the wheel.

Also there is nothing physically wrong with the draglink design, many other draglinks are designed the same way. I highly suspect the loose jam nut was because they didn't get tightened properly from the factory. And V06 made people feel better about it. The actual solution is to use thread locker and properly torque down the jam nuts. This is what I do and have never had a loose jam nut once.
