My new 2022 2500 ram didn't come with GPS I'm using my android phone with Google maps does anyone know what app for rv or trucking navigation works good with a android phone. I don't trust Google maps it has sent down more than one road with a low bridge. I wasn't towing those times thank God.
Thanks

RV-Life is supposed to be good. I tried it once a few years ago but found it a bit confusing. My onboard nav and Google have served me well enough. The only time I ran into problems was in the "old" states like New Jersey where they have a lot of old, narrow and low bridges. I've had to do the "back up of shame" with a camper in tow a couple times there.

I use RV Life Safe GPS if I'm heading in any direction I've never been while towing.

I've heard CoPilot GPS is also a good app for RV navigation.

Both have a monthly/yearly subscription.

I've never tried using my phone maps except for locating a business or street address, not sure I would trust it for a cross country trip. I use a Garmin RV gps with lifetime map updates, which updates 3-4 times a year, and it's made for RV towing.

Just about every summer we go to New Jersey we use a rv campground in Pennsylvania. That's about a 20 minute drive to the grandkids house. I know exactly what you mean about narrow roads, there's one bridge we have to cross along the way where I have to fold in the driver's side outside mirror if there's a vehicle coming the other way, in my 1500 with no tow mirrors now I believe I will have to fold in both now with the 2500. Using Google maps in NJ I found definitely will not work for a trailer Google will take you down roads with low bridges and right turns that are like 180 degrees like a U turn on some of the roads. We live in Texas so it's a yearly trip we got in the same situation the first time we towed our 27 ft trailer I was brand new to towing and still having problems backing up and ended up on a dead end windy road had to back up going up a small incline after that I was pretty good at backing up.
