Uconnect 5 FOTA - S21D.5 Release Date 12/22/21

Yesterday the truck worked fine on my way to work. On my way back carplay did not work at all. Got home, did a "Radio Restart" and deleted re-paired phone. It has worked since then. However, I am still going to do a Full Factory Reset and go from there.

Radio Restart- just the usual turn off and back on? or is there something else? i know the full reset is holding the volume and tune buttons.
 
No not the normal button on/off. I am not in truck now but from what I remeberGo to Vehicle - Settings - and use the left options to scroll all the way to "Reset" then there are some options there. Such as "Restart Radio" "Reset Display Settings" Reset Home Screen"....stuff like that and at the bottom it says "Full Factory Reset" or something like that.

ah, ok. ill have to look for that. mine must have updated this mornin. i drove to work and it was good, now update is done, but wont connect car play. thanks for the info
 
For sure, make sure its the menu where you use the left of the screen to scroll down the options. Its the screen where you can change your theme, audio system settings, bass treble, etc Hope this helps!

Im very interested in what happens after you do a factory reset. Please keep us posted. That your version is something different than the update intrigues me. My truck updated to the 21C.6. That you have 21.8 sounds to be a newer version. Maybe installed at factory? What was your build date?

According to Ram Chat this is a dealer installed software update...... @RamCares do you "care" to clarify? Is this a FOTA we can do or is it a Dealer Installed software update (per ramchat)?
 
I have the S21C.6 software and I am having more issues now than before. Took a two hour trip yesterday and had multiple black screens, sound lock ups, lost CarPlay twice, had icons on bottom of 12” screen coming and going. Have lost my engine temp and oil pressure off my off road pages. Not a fan right now. Hope they can get it fixed.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like your experience is the reason they aren’t pushing the update out more. Whomever they have testing this stuff and giving the green light needs to be taken out back for some better training.

I noticed there was an update available so I deciced to look on the forums to see if there was any information about it and I'm glad I did. I think I'll wait.
 
Still waiting on my update. May take it to dealer next weekend for update.

You probably don’t need it with all the issues everyone reporting.
Ram probably pulled it due to all these issues reported is probably why it’s not showing up for you.
