Typical DEF Usage

Has anyone else noticed more def usage in winter? I have the ecm flash but noticed in the summer the truck sips DEF but in the winter i only get about 2000 miles per tank all highway unloaded
 
My last tank of def, on a 19 Ram 3500 dually, mixed towing and not, got 750 miles to a gallon of def
 
DEF reflashed.
Travelled 1025 miles (not towing) and used 4 gallons def (246 mpg).
Used 57 gallons of diesel (17.9 mpg). Thats a heap more than the quoted 3%.

Just towed this 13047 lbs. pig 2375 miles to Gibsons, BC. 3.5 gallons of DEF per 100 gallons of diesel. Averaged 7.5 mpg throughout the trip. These numbers are worst of any trailers that I tow.

What kinda speeds were you going? Towing 14k park models i get 9-10 mpg
 
Don’t normally tow and I am at 1/2 tank of def I’ve gone about 2400 miles

Those are really horrible numbers but at least you can pull it.

Yeah, I had a choice between two equipped identically but one in Pearl White and the other in the same color you got. They even both had the same interior color (unfortunately). I'm a big fan of white trucks, so I went that way otherwise we would have had about an identical truck!
 
DPF blocked after country run towing. Dealer said bad DEF and plugged in their computer to force a burn. Did not clear so they forced another burn using new DPF fitted option. Drained DEF and refilled, tested and seems ok. Drove another 2000 miles and DPF blocked again. Engine light on and code says Regen frequency.

dealer replaced DPF and after a tank of DEF it all seems fine. Using much less DEF and much better fuel economy.
