TTPMS Not working

I purchased my 2025 RAM 3500 SRW Laramie with the TTPMS option in June of 2025. I've yet to have this option work at all. I've been to the dealer 7x total now for this same problem. The last time they had my truck for two weeks, and said it was fixed, but when I went to pick it up, the problem persisted. The Sensors are installed in my trailer, and new sensors have been installed/replaced by the dealer. Everything pairs fine. The issue is that the sensors read 0 psi at all times and never actually provide an actual reading. Dealer has worked with RAM engineering and has applied software updates and replaced components. Result is always the same. Very frustrating! Anyone have any ideas to try to get this option to do what it is supposed to?

Same problem on my '22. Here's the work around. Go into the settings on the u5 system and select a different trailer, even one that is not setup at all. Exit the screen. Then go back into settings and select the correct trailer. Still might take it a few minutes to show the tire pressures, but it always works for me. This is something I have to do every time I hook up the trailer with the TTPMS sensors.

Mine 2025 2500 does the same thing with the center display (always zero) but the readout on the dash works perfectly. I'll need to try jebruns trick next time. Because it works on the dash readout, I wasn't too concerned that it doesn't work on the center display and didn't want to take another trip to the dealer.

dg2024, I hope they find a fix for you - please let us know if they do! Does your dash readout work?

Idea:
Once the trailer tires are on the move down the road is it possible at that point the system starts working / working better vs. trailer and tires just sitting still.

I have a 40ft gooseneck and trailer tires are far back there… I think the “distance” between the trailer tires and the receiver behind the license plate/ bumper is a problem along with that receiver being placed behind the steal bumper.

Stellantis coulda shoulda done their homework on this before throwing it out into the public.

I have installed and tryed a TTPMS signal booster. It didn’t work. I have spoken with the owner of the company that made it. He’s not willing to attempt to make one that works with the RAM TTPMS.

The dealership is still handing the air clueless of the entire system. Not worth another trip for anyone with these issues.

My next step is to relocate the receiver from behind the license plate/bumper to just outside the bumper somewhere somehow and try it. I mean.. I can’t move the trailer tires closer..

FYI: my dealership blamed my issues on window tint being a metallic film. They were saying the module in the roof liner above the rear passenger is a receiver and it’s being blocked by window tint.
The TIM module.
I guess that’s not an impossible idea but likely… no.

I’ve also been trying to contact different people at Stellantis with questions. Zero luck yet.
If I ever find out anything I’ll be tire to SHARE it with the rest of the people that bought these trucks for pulling and hauling heavy loads. That’s what they were built for.

Your dealer doesn't have a clue. My dealer didn't even know the option existed. The receiver is behind the rear bumper next to the license plate and window tint is just your dealer trying to get out of fixing the problem. Distance from the receiver to the tires is a huge issue. Those tire sensors were never designed to throw a signal 30 feet. However they must be rotating to start transmitting. They were designed for pickups/cars where the signal only needs to go a couple of feet. I had all sorts of problems with my 40 foot fifth wheel. The receiver is mounted behind plastic so moving it to the other side of the bumper will not fix the issue. I solved the problem by making an extension cable and installing the reciever to the trailer belly just forward of the tandem axles. It was a lot of work but no problems after that. I have to agree, Stellantis could have put more effort into a system that actually works. Actually it is obvious that the folks engineering these trucks never use them. What is really sad is that problem areas are never corrected. They just carry over from one model year to the next.

The sensors in the tires do not transmit until the trailer is moving , or the pressure changes like during the pairing process.

I am confused, are you saying that once you are moving the sensors work as intended? Because that's normal operation. In fact it generally takes about 1-2 minutes for all my trailer tires to transmit the tires PSI once I am moving.

I have 8 on my fifth wheel. About half come on line in the first half mile and the rest are on by the time I get a mile down the road. By the time I am parked for an hour, all are asleep and showing “—-“ on the display.

I have 4 - my 5th wheel is only 40ft. I do know that the sensors will still have the PSI after stopping for fuel or short stops. If I remeber correctly if we stop to eat and its longer than 30 minutes mine will be -- as well. Once I start down the road they will come back. Now, I do have to do the switch between trailer profiles trick sometimes if I get the Trailer TPMS Not configured message or I cant set the target pressure. I have noticed that when I cant change the the target pressure from the default 50 psi I may or may not get tire PSI readings.

My Trailer TPMS was installed after I bought the truck, all my trucks that have had issues when the TTPMS was installed after they were bought so I am use to the glitches LOL.

Does not work on my '22. I made the first few tows with no reading for the trailer tires. Even after retraining it a couple of times. Until I found out about the hack I described above.

I don't have the distance issue apparently, but just curious what your results are after trying the trailer swap in the settings.
