Truck is "bouncy/springy" when towing?

OP told us where the tank was, and it isn't at the back edge of the boat.

The back seat would absolutely be considered the back of the boat. You can see the gas cap right at the back seat head rest. therefore putting more weight and the back tires. I would have to believe everyone else is correct in the sense that the tongue weight is light because of all the fuel.

I was taught that when i first drove OTR that diesel weight should be calculated at 7 lb per gallon, using that advice it kept me out of trouble with DOT at the scales
I Agree, 7 to 7.1 for diesel, gas is 6 to 6.3.
Water is 8.34. to 8.661.
We were talking about the OP's gas tank in the boat, I thought.
Cheers

Yeah so if thats the case... full tank at 50 gallons at 7ibs a gal, would be 350ibs. Which i like to overshoot everything anyways,

I have black and while I love my black sumo springs, I don’t think they’re your answer here for this trailer. My truck has a constant load of 1000lb plus I pull a trailer with 1k tongue weight.

I am still thinking if you add tongue weight you’ll pull great. Ive pulled plenty of 7k bumper pull trailers with half ton trucks and this truck. The tongue weight should be squatting the truck a little bit

That big ol Hoss only has a 50 gallon tank? Man, I'd think by the time you start it, pull it off the trailer and get it tied up at the dock, you'd be down a quarter tank...;)

Yeah, I was thinking the same. My boat is about the same length, but more of an offshore fishing/diving boat. The tank in mine holds around 140 gallons.

Your correct, my brain is wired for diesel, its so bad that my wife will not let me go by my self to fuel up her car because I have a habit of always stopping at the diesel pump

Yeah would make sense as its a sea boat. This hull isnt very deep at all and considered a high performance speed boat and ment for fresh water only, not really ment for long trips or contnious boating all day. No, the tank does not last long but im also not driving it or hot rodding it all day long. Its unload, a few hot laps for 30-60 minutes, then park it for a couple hours, couple more hot laps for another 30-60 minutes to the next spot and park it again for a couple hours, then pack up for a few more hot laps to run the tank out back to the launch ramp.

Looks like a fun boat for sure.

Do you need more friends? Asking for a friend who needs a friend with a boat

Air pressure rear truck tires to match bulge/contact area same as front on the PU truck
