I just bought a left over 2023 2wd 2500 with a 6.4 gas. It doesn't shift into 8th gear until I get to 68 mph. 95 percent of my driving is at 60 and below. That's the speed limit. It is turning 2100 rpm at 60. It has a 373 differential. I'm not a brain surgeon, but ALL of my other trucks, was turning 1500 at 60 mph. Common sense tells me that the lower the rpm, the better the fuel mileage. And before someone says, it runs there to maintain the speed, I have a 2015 Ford escape, with a 1.8 engine, and it doesn't have any trouble maintaining the 60 mph. Is their an update for the shift pattern, or is this just a huge screw up?

There have been a couple discussion on this, but it's normal and how Ram want's the engine to run.

7th is still an OD, so you're getting the fuel savings over direct.

If you want to try and get Ram to issue a software update it will have to be something pushed thru @RamCares and your dealership to elevate the issue. It's not just in the Ram thou, other Stellantis platforms do the same thing with the higher axle ratios.

Not really a good comparison between a Edge and a Ram, but the final drive ratio of the Escape is lower than your Ram is in 7th. That lower ratio equates to less torque lost.

Well, you didn't just buy as you were here last month and got pretty sh*tty with the membership that tried to help you understand.
