Transmission fluid change

What is everybody using for fluid and how often? I have the 68rfe and I plan on sticking to the severe service of 60,000 miles but will most likely change it early for the first one, somewhere around 30,000 miles to get some better fluid in there (Amsoil) and stick on a deep pan from Revmax or ATS at the same time probably. Any recommendations, tips on changing it out? This will be my first time tackling a trans oil change, I understand the basics.. you will never get all the fluid out, so just fill in the same amount that came out. I am looking forward to doing a oil analysis on the factory fill to.

Anyone using additives like Hot Shots Secrets Stiction Remover? I never use oil additives, only fuel additives but with how well Hot Shot fuel additives have worked for my truck versus others and pure fuel only, makes me think about giving their oil additive science a go. I understand it is beating a dead horse as a high quality oil has all the additives it needs, as they (oil maker) would be the first ones to put in a dream additive to make those crazy claims true.. but what fun would it be to not even talk about it

If you want less of a mess when changing fluid, I would suggest sucking it out of the dipstick tube since there's no drain plug and they expect you to drop the pan. That's what I did with my old 1500 with the 65rfe every 30k since it was a city truck.

Like you said, simply add back the amount that came out if just doing a fluid change. If you do change the pan, again, it's easier to suck out fluid first then drop the old one.

Mine's slightly different with the Aisin - but I plan on doing fluid changes every 30k using Mobil 3309 fluid. Change filter every 60k.

Oh I forgot to add - for fluid in the 1500, I just used Castrol 6810 ATF-4 Chrysler specific fluid. Should be the same fluid in the 68rfe. I never dabbled with any additives for that.
