This is old news to many, but I found it exceptionally helpful....especially at the 7:00 mark where he explains the alternative function of the reverse-circuit.
You can ignore his color designations....apparently trailer wire color standardization is still a true s#@!-show and every MFG is different.
My understanding is that RAM Trailer wiring colors "should" be something like this...kinda :
RAM 7-Pin wiring
Yellow - Left Turn Signal ( 9 0'clock)
Light Green - Right Turn Signal ( 3 o'clock)
Thick Black - Ground ( 7 o'clock)
White with Orange Stripe - Reverse (Center)
White with Brown stripe – Running Lights ( 11 o'clock)
Dark Green – Trailer Brakes ( 5 o'clock)
Thin Red – 12v power ( 1 o'clock)
Remember to take into account that the plug layout is a mirror image of the receptacle layout.
