What is the 12 pin trailer connector for above the light and brake connection?

That is for the Ram backup camera for a trailer. I plugged in my connection on my trailer I had installed in 21 and it works just fine in my 23 2500. Do not confuse this with the connector on the left of your license plate that is a coax type connecti9on, assuming you have one. That's for the Digital mirror trailer camera.
