Just bought a new Ram 3500 with the tow pkg. It comes with TPMS for the trailer. Went to put the TPMS OEM parts on the 2024 Grand Design 395MS wheels and the tire center says they don't work? The OEM stems won't work on Aluminum wheels? Anybody run into this?

I have the Ram supplied TTPMS's in aluminum wheels on my trailer. No issues caused by the wheel material. Mine is a '22, but I don't think that makes any difference for this.

I dont know if the 2024's have the same wheels, but on my '21 I had to machine the nut slightly to allow more thread engagement on the stem, but if I had to do it again I wouldn't go through the trouble with the Ram system, the axles are too far away from the receiver at the bumper, the rear axle on the trailer rarely reads pressure, and the middle axle works about half the time.
I abandoned the Ram system and use my tireminder system that actually works.

My sensors fit fine since I have steel wheels. However, as superjoe83 mentioned, the receiver on the rear bumper often does not pick up a good consistent signal if the trailer wheels are very far aft. My solution was to make an extension cable on the trailer and mounted the receiver module to the trailer belly just forward of the axles. I have a quick disconnect in the bed of the truck. That solved the problem. Ram did not think this system through at all. I think the tire sensors were never designed for that purpose as they do not have the range needed.

Some of the wheels are too thick and the stems don't have enough threads to install the sensors. Looks like you can install the sensors on different stems in the thread below.

"Mopar OEM Trailer TPMS appears to be made for a trailer wheel with a wall thickest of 1/8"
