Trailer Light Connecter Housing

Had a little issue last night. Someone at work hooked up my trailer light connector but didn’t unwrap the wire from the tongue of the trailer. This left little slack and in a tight turn the plug pulled the connector housing out of the bumper. What holds this housing in? I tried spreading the metal tabs but it just pulls right back out. Any advice?

I did the same thing. Caught my foot on the cable when stepping over the tongue. Mine looks like the metal clips tore thru the plastic.

I am thinking I might epoxy it.
