Tradesman vs Big Horn

Bummer .. I just noticed the 2022 Tradesman got a manual sliding rear-window standard ... Gone for 2023 ...

I know you wanted that but I have always had them, manual or electric and literally never used them past the first day of clicking on buttons to see if everything worked, same for sunroofs and moonroofs. This time I'm happy to get solid glass on my order.
Right along with you though on the premise of Ala Carte items without forcing other items when they just don't make sense. Looking at you chrome package, you tried real hard but naw! ;)

My 2018 2500 BigHorn had the power slider in the back and I did use it when I had windows in truck down for nice weather. Of course that was power and was easy to open and close .. Opening manual slider not as convenient. What is nice about the manual version is the framing is slimmer than the power version. I do agree though that the truck looks great with solid glass in the back .. very sleek - and that was never an option before. I also notice that you can buy the manual slider from Mopar for like $200 ... but then have to deal with installation and potential leaking if its not installed properly. One thing I definitely did not want was the Rear Defrost .. I do see you got that. I did not have Rear defrost on my 2018 and never missed it .. and so much better not looking through the defroster lines.

Yes, I'm thinking that I might need it (rear defrost) for my use case. I plan to rear seat delete flat floor like goose gear and I didn't find any easy transition ducting from the under seat ac/heat vents to bring that trapped airflow from under the flat floor, dogs in the back huffing and puffing I figured might fog up. The center "console" ducts should be at a good level though.

I believe my Tradesman with the dual climate option also included powered and rear defrost window. I never (rarley) use the power slider, but defroster comes in handy.

Also when I was looking at purchasing between a Tradesman and Big Horn. My Tradesman was pretty much loaded with exception of options of bed lights, and safety package I believe. I installed Mopar OEM leather steering wheel with audio controls, CJC Offroad Tradesman Fog Lights, bed liner, Laramie Wheels. Right now the only big items that I don’t have that can be optioned or found in the Big Horn are adjustable seats, center console, and heated seats. That’s roughly 5k difference between the two trims I looked at, and all I added was way less. I Use the difference to purchase Thuren suspension, tires, Amp Steps.

Tradesman Level 2 package gives you the Power Slider and Defroster - Convenience Package gives the Dual Zone AC and Auto Dim Mirror.

I use my rear window all the time its a nice feature when you want fresh air with no wind noise

Truck manufacturers make money on trucks loaded with options. I think they use chaos marketing to confuse buyers. It takes a long time to figure what level of trim and options to look for. It could be much simpler, but it would not generate as much revenue. Then there is the large and growing after market for truck add ons and do dads. I bought a Bighorn and it has more features on it than any vehicle I have ever owned except for a Lexus. It is like a spaceship.
