TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

I haven't ordered the parts yet, thank you very much for posting this information!
Just spitballing here, but range has been a slight issue, maybe the new sensor at the bumper has better sensitivity/range?

I'm hoping someone is still monitoring this. I can't find the 4 pack of sensors. I keep getting the "Discontinue Part" when I look at the Mopar sites. It is directing me to order part # 68516743AA instead. That part is listed as the trailer TPMS 4 pack of sensors and says it is for the 2019-2020 so I'm hoping that it is just the updated part number? If anyone has more info on this I would appreciate it. I've asked for verification from Mopar World but no response back yet.

I might have pack in the garage, I will look tomorrow

These are what I installed https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-sensor-kit-trailer-tire-68433188aa Price has gone up since last August.

Can find them on flea-bay or just do a web search for the part number. The set you have listed, may be the same, but otherwise, no idea. https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts/mopar-sensor-pa-tire-pressure~68433188aa.html

However, order yourself a set of the shorter Stems if you have aluminum rims on your trailer - those are these here: https://www.tpms.com/product-p/20049.htm

Looks like the number you're seeing is the update for the previous. https://www.moparpartsinc.com/p/SENSOR-KIT-Tire-Pressure/78292103/68433188AA.html

I'd say yer good for the new number.

the link for the shorter stems for aluminum wheels, is that a single set or a pair, website doesn't say. TIA

Question I have is…if I ordered TTPMS, does the truck come with a package of sensors or is it just for a receiver that was placed on my truck?

Yes, if factory ordered, the truck comes with a pack of four sensors. Heck of a deal if you get the system from the factory.

Makes sense, but what if I need six sensors for a triple axle?

Anyone have a lead on the TIM Pigtail cable: 68412666AA? I thought I had one on order, but apparently I was wrong. I know someone was making these at one time but I can't find any on ebay as of today.

@Jimmy07 can make you a cable.

Also maybe post a WTB in the classified forum. Some members my have gotten stuck with an extra cable.

Amazon Prime has some in stock.

Thanks to this thread, I was able to order the parts needed, install them and get trailer TPMS working for my Lariat. Thank you to all who contributed to this thread.

I got the receiver ($77), TIM ($81) and the harness ($16) from Amazon. And the 4 pack of sensors ($90) from eBay. Americas Tire charged $40 ($10 each) to install the sensors. This was an awesome addition to my truck for just over $300.

I've been slowly working through getting all the new features of my 2022 3500 worked through that add impressive features for towing. So far I've installed Trailer Surround cameras that came with the truck. I did not install the front camera because I didn't feel it would be useful but now see where it would allow me to keep track of how close my 5th wheel trailer is getting to the cab when I'm backing so I'll probably go back and do that. The digital rear view mirror option is FANTASTIC ... absolutely love it. My RV maintenance guy had an issue installing the TPMS monitors so I took it my Ram dealer for them to install or resolve. The stems they put in appear longer so I believe they had to change out the ones that were delivered with the truck. The service manager was very interested in all of it so oversaw the effort to include testing it. Today I picked it up and it was obvious the TPMS monitors had been programmed ... but none of the tires where showing pressure. The service manager was off today, but will be working the rest of the week so I'm expecting a call tomorrow on any tips he had that might help with my connectivity issues.

So one question everyone kept asking me is where is the receiver. Basically, the receiver is mounted behind the plastic panel on the bumper to the left of the license plate and directly below where the digital rear view camera jack is. With my fifth wheel, the front axle of my 5th wheel is 19 feet behind the TPMS monitor. My second axel is another three feet back. So one solution that was proposed more was a TPMS repeater. I believe I've been through the whole 63 pages of this thread and have not seem a solution to this range issue except on person said that the TireMinder repeater worked on the same frequency. That's what I had before so I mounted the repeater on a wood block so it could be oriented properly and place it between the trailer axel and the TPMS receiver on the truck. I made sure there was line of sight between the receiver and repeater with no metal between ... but I that did not appear to work.

I haven't seen anything about a Mopar OEM repeater so I don't believe that currently exists; however, it would be something they should be able to easily add to their options to resolve these range issues. It wouldn't need to be complex and with 12 volts of power, should be able to output a signal strong enough to easily reach the receiver. Simply wire it to the hot charge wire from the 7 pin harness and that way it will only have power when the trailer 7 pin plug is plugged in.

If anyone has any other input ... it would be greatly appreciated. For this trip, I may just have to fall back on the TireMinder TPMS system I used previously ... hopefully service manager will have useful tips. If so, I'll follow up on this.

Ford mounts their TTPMS receiver on the trailer via the 12-pin umbilical.

You may have or have not seen the post where one member moved his but when it was unplugged from the truck, it had a Service TTPMS error and he had to setup the sensors all over again.

Yes, they should build a repeater, I use one with my Tireminder to pick up my boat trailer sensors. Most systems use the same frequency @433Mhz, but are not digitally coded the same so they don't work together.

So I’m waiting to take delivery, but wanted to ask about these sensors. I have a triple axle toy hauler, so I know I’ll need two more sensors to go along with the four pack.

Do the sensors go on IN the tires? I feel silly asking this, but I haven’t even looked at the kit yet, that and the previous owner had his own kit where the sensors were on the stem caps.
