Toyo or Michelin on my 2019 RAM 3500 Tradesman Dually

I went with the Toyo tires. I've towed several times now and like how the tire handle the loads from 12k to 25k.

Unless I buy a heavier camper, my heavy tow days are done as my friend I towed equipment trailers for has retired.

I have six new Toyos waiting for me when I get back home. Having them road force balanced as well. Anything is better than the Nexens. Friend of mine who worked in a tire store for many years recommended the Toyos. They sold most brands. Said they found side wall dry rot issues with the Michelins. At least in the LT tires. Will report back if the Toyos don't work out.

I had Michelins on my 2003 dually and they dry rotted on the inside sidewalls. All did the same thing. I would have thought that the outside would have gone first due to the sun exposure. The outside looked fine and I only found the cracks when I rotated them. You could see the fabric through the cracks.
Ive had my Toyo AT3's for 2 and half years now and I have nothing bad to say about them. Good wear as far as towing, good winter weather grip, good in the rain as well, ride nice, and since I installed them I don't always have to ^%$& with the air pressure like I had to with my Coppers...and of course they are purdy to look at.

I really loved the Michelins on my 08 but I did have to have the tire shop warranty them for side wall cracking rot. I wonder if that was a thing years ago. I'll most likely put them on the dually once the Nexans wear out or age out... I don't drive many miles a year.

Between those two options Michelin hand down.

My experience with these is they wore like hot butter on dads 06, he went thru two sets in relatively few miles on 285/75R17’s. The didn’t wear as fast as the Toyo’s we’ve ran thou. Both Nitto and Toyo aren’t in our future.

well I hate to hear that. I'm still on the stock size tires. thinking about switching up wheels and tires this year and go back up to 37's anyway.

We have the Michelin LTX on our truck now...

But I've heard some folks get absurdly high miles out of the Michelin AT/2 if they make them in your size...and they're a little less grandpa looking.

I've run all the major brands..goodyear, bridgestones, michelins and toyo's...I would say, IMMHO, Toyo's balance the best and have very little run-out...Goodyear's are the worst in balance and thread life...but to each his own. I would just suggest to stick to a high ply tire and a more harder compound or load range if you're towing a lot.

I run the commercial light truck Toyo C/T's on both of my 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon and on my 2024 Ram 3500 Cummins SRW Crew Cab Long Bed. Our family's 2014 Ram 2500 Cummins runs the Toyo 2500 A/T III's due to the 285 75R18 size availability. The C/T's just don't seem to wear as much in heavy towing like the A/T IIIs. Got over 50K miles on the Power Wagon's 35 inch Toyo C/T tires with 9/32" tread depth remaining and no noticable wear in 5K miles on our 3500's 33 inch Toyo C/T tires. The majority of miles is towing a 10K GVWR pound trailer. The 3PMSF rating is important for our usage.
