Towing with new 6.4L

This is what we are picking up next week. Ember 22ETS. We picked it because of the E-track system in the rear bunks. You can configure it in several different ways. Once we are empty nesters in about 6 years, we can remove the bunks and turn it into an office/storage space. For now, we will configure it for our girl with just the bottom bunk and the top one as a shelf for store. Also, the kitchen layout is great. It even has a coffee bar.

We got a Rockwood withOUT a dinette but has the kitchen bar type set up. We love it. I spend my mornings in there. Ours is flat but I can reach the coffee maker have plugs, out of the way, can look out the door and see the dogs, turn the TV a bit and see it... So glad we didn't get a dinette... We got one with a "private" sofa/bedroom/slideout but the overall TT is still only 29.9 feet. Empty nesters. It's a 24 ultra lite 2616BH. I love this one and that little private bedroom pic... They only made ours for two years 24/25 glad we got one. I guess they didn't sell well, but we also scored right at a 50% reduction off MSRP. It has three slides feels much more like a fifth wheel lots of space...AND storage, but the storage is a bit odd. We got used to it fast. https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/print/rockwood/2616BH/9654

We were very impressed. I wish the weather would have cooperated a little more so we could've took advantage of the space.
I used to visit a sales guy I worked with in Petaluma, really enjoyed the area. That is a lot of greenery at your site.

Those little hills in Arizona are nothing like what i encounter on a regular basis in Colorado.
I live in MT. You can't get there from here without a few passes along the way... Mostly, not quite as gnarly as CO but the truck works... I love driving through flat states...but living in SW MT.

Nice floor plan.

I retired January 1st 2019 and we moved to South East Arizona November 2019. If it wasn't for family, we probably wouldn't cross the state line of Komiefornia again.
Congrats on being retired! I've no plans to retire right now (I'm 64), but also have a flexible work schedule and am lucky to work with some great friends. I've seen your renaming of CA, all I can say is I've traveled all over and have friends of all political persuasions. I like all 50 states. Glad you don't let your feelings on an entire state of 40 million fellow Americans get in the way of seeing family.

Meh…Never no way, family can come see me. They all want to come here to dink around anyway.
I am willing to go 14 miles into Arizona and make a right, about it.
Some serious grade there, PW pulls it fine.

Given how bad RVs are today for the mass produced big boys, make sure to consul Liz Amazing on you tube, and her buyers guide. Or consider a premium dealer such as ROA off road where they test these things and don't sell the junkers.

I didn't want to make it too political. I grew up in Sacramento and worked in Sonoma County most of my Construction career. I've watched it change, as I have our country. Certain people are trying to take away our rights. The East Coast and the West Coast. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights is what this country was fought for. I'm willing to do my part to defend these rights.

Out of town for me nowadays means hunting and fishing, thats it. I have no interest in hunting or fishing new spots, let alone those out of state. King of a few rather than a jack of many..my places.
So, probably won’t roam out of state again if I can help it. Def not going west, fcs.

The Powerwagon and it’s 6.4 tows really great, even better since welding the 2.5” adapter on my favorite and 2” hitch.
If not buying 2.5 hitches, sincerely recommend that welding. Indeed, maintains speed and handles better, quieter and smoother…no clunking.

Maybe so, but the more I see, the more I understand is a push towards Socialism. Did not want to believe it, but how can you deny it anymore? A concept bringing down so much of the world today.

Appreciate the post, and I hope my post didn't make this political, didn't mean to. Back to towing ...

I really enjoy this thread because my wife and I have talked about doing the camper thing, just have never waded in. I would enjoy the aspect of bringing home with us, can easily take stuff that I'd enjoy having on trips. I'm not really interested in campground to campground every few days trips, would prefer to go somewhere for a week and stay put. We'll see if it happens but reading all this helps understand a lot more about it. I figure I already have the truck ...

I hope to have more time to do the same down the road. Tow our camper somewhere, and then set off exploring for days or a week. One reason a kept the size reasonable, and a medium duty off road camper ( MDC). If I could do it again I would go premium. But push it a little ways off road, and then take off. However, I am planning to do that with an Ineos Quartermaster in a few years outfitted for Overlanding. Just easier to use a mid sized truck on trails. Camp coming and going in the RV, then hit a trail for a few days in the truck and come back....anyways a concept I am forming.
