Towing airstream 22’ help

Does a WDH help with porpoising? I tow a 9k enclosed trailer currently with just a drop hitch. Never felt any sway in over 3500 miles towing up and down California. I do get a lot of porpoising where the front end bounces. No loss of steering, just annoying. About 1k on the hitch as measured by a weigh safe hitch and 7700 on the trailer axles.
It would help a bit but you will never get away from it

Biggest takeaway is that no one agrees, we’re all “experts” and you should ignore us all.

Do what makes you feel safe/comfortable.
Well, I posted the excerpt from the owners manual? Already forgotten? :)
Further on, I am always right. hahahah
No in all honesty, I think if somebody wants to be on the save side a WDH with sway control feature makes sense when towing >5,000lbs.
It works to tow heavy loads w/o WDH but when it gets really tough in a storm then you wish you had a WDH.
WDH hitch makes even more sense for trucks w/o air suspension or which are closer to its weight limit.
I can not really see any disadvantage of a WDH, except a minute extra time for hooking up the trailer and maybe 200-300$ cost.
Anyone who can state a disadvantage of a WDH?

one only negative are those dang WDH that have to be disconnected before going in reverse!

Check out the Recurve R6. You can just turn the hex head keys (for lack of a better term) and back up. You can backup with sway control engaged, but it fights you until your off 10°.

I have a Reese Strait Line works great.
And you can back up with it.
It's all about piece of mind for me, safety of my family is of the utmost importance!

I just ordered the Gen-y torsion hitch!! Going to run my E2 Wehrmacht on my next trip in 2 weeks! Can’t wait to run that set up

They're heavy and awkward and a pain to hook up. Not a big deal when you hook up for a week's vacation but when you're doing drop and hook towing, it's a pain.
The trunnion type is loud as H when you're turning.
The socket type is messy with grease all over the bars.
Stowing the bars when not in use can be a bit challenging, especially the greasy ones.
And I just don't care for the feel of them when driving. If it's heavy enough that you need a WDH, a heavier truck would be a much better solution.

Some like them, some don't, they're not one size fits all. Good thing it's still America and we have choices.

Yup. I like my Bulletproof/Equalizer set up (can even open my tailgate with the truck and trailer hooked....)and have backed into plenty of spaces without disconnecting the bars. If it's a challenging spot with grade changes and or slopes I will remove the bars.

An Airstream is a big investment. Don't look to save a few bucks by not getting a good weight distribution/anti sway hitch. I tow an Airstream International 30RB with my Ram. I use a Blue Ox with 1000 pound bars. Works great, good control even with wind gusts. Be safe out there.
