I have pulled for years, Power Strokes is what had. This is my 1st 2021 Ram 2500 Diesel with 3:73 gears. I’m impressed already pulling my TT loaded and scaled at 12k lbs. looking at FW Toy Haulers dry weight 15k - after loaded most likely 17k. Tow capacity shows 18k. I am curious on how it will do with tire sidewall flex and Swaying for its 13 ft in heigth?

I won’t pester you about that kind of weight with a 2500………..but as to the question about tires and sidewall flex, the SRW 3500’s have the same wheel/tires as 2500’s.

I'd be worried less about the tires/wheels, that are the same on both 2500 and 3500, and more about the inboard coil's or air spring's stability. a 15K TH with 2800-3200 pin weight is going to push you to add supplemental air springs for stability and payload.

@H3LZSN1P3R in 3,2,1... to say you can tow a DRV or New Horizon with a 2500. :D

Thank you for your feedback and input. I have the standard rear coil springs non/ air. Considering air bags to keep from blinding in coming traffic as well as stability. The payload numbers show I will be around 400lbs in the green. Keep the replies coming. Doing research before making the heavy debt plunge on a FW. It will be our last Camper hopefully. We only use our 2500 to pull and camp for I follow Drag Boat and NHRA races so the onboard Generator is a plus.

Thanks again!

Definitely add the airbags. My 5er isn’t anywhere close to the weight your talking but the bags level the truck and take some of the sway out that the coils provide. Also, hauled a ton of wood pellets in my truck today, with the bags aired up to 40psi the truck drives like it’s empty.

Firestone tires are junk at best so id switch up to a better tire for towing that weight, im not sure what your pinweight is but at 20-25% you are not in the green on payload according to the door sticker, by axle weights you are still tight once you have gear, hitch and other stuff….

A good set of bags will help for sure i like the airlift 5000s.

My son is looking at 5th wheels in that exact weight category, and after a lot of research, he traded in his 21 Cummins 2500 for a 22 HO 3500 dually with factory air. He will never regret that decision.
