Fellow towers..

When connecting a trailer, the Ram 3500 automatically detects its connected once you plug everything in. However, I haven't been able to change anything manually, am I missing something.
For example, it tries to auto detect the length as opposed to manually telling it how long the trailer is, and it doesn't "guess" very accurately.
I also can not seem to setup multiple trailers / configurations for the various types of trailers I am pulling, like Ford / GM, did I assume this was standard in 2023 and Ram is really behind the curve on this one or am I just not in the right pages.
I have the 12" Uconnect but only see limited towing selections via dash..

Thanks for the help

The length is for trailer blindspot monitoring. Your options are "Auto" or "Max (39.5')". I've rarely had problems with the Auto setting detecting my trailer length properly. It does best if you make a 90* turn sometime shortly after hooking up.

You go in to the settings on the 12" screen and go to trailer or towing setup and you can create 4 or 5 different trailer profiles and what kind of braking to use....
Thanks, let me re-check all the screen pages in the Uconnect

Roger. It seems to like to pick 20 or 30 ft in auto, and I am normally towing a 40 ft trailer.

Iirc 38 or 39 ft is the max length for trailer blind spot monitor....can't you choose max length?
Nope, won't let you select. Also not a whole lot of flexibility in the trailer selection category or monitoring miles by trailer.

The setting is in Uconnect. You have to have the trailer connected to set it.
