Tool Boxes?

With the megacab you have to choose how you will use the precious space if you are pulling a 5th wheel. My Demco slider has about 16” (maybe 18”, I’m going from memory) of clearance to the front of the bed. You can and should install a 50 gallon Titan tank in place of the OEM.
How much did the Titan cost you installed?

If I recall correctly it was about $2k but I also had a Fleece lift pump installed at the same time. You can choose to use the factory pump. I’d have to look through the stack of papers on my desk to give you a more precise answer.

I’ll say this, I never regretted this expense. It only took one 3k mile trip with my trailer to discover the joys of frequent fuel stops. I also have a Lund transfer tank in my bed for fueling my tractor and that gives me another 50 gallons of fuel to tap into whenever I stop.

What hitch are you using? Have a toolbox too? Would be interested in seeing pics of your setup .

Thanks.

I have a Demco sliding 5th wheel and the gooseneck is a B&W. I install either hitch when I need it, right now it is not in the truck so I can’t get any pics for you. No permanently mounted toolbox in my setup, which is the tradeoff I had to make for the transfer tank. I’d love to have an L-shaped fuel tank with a toolbox but there isn’t enough room with the 5th wheel. I have a small tool chest in the back loaded up with the basics for roadside repair and I take it out when I need space. I’d like to put a tool chest on my enclosed car hauler but it’s a V-nose and with the tight fit I am not sure I would get a lot of usable space, plus I would have to relocate my battery box and I just don’t love that trailer enough to do it. I would like to replace that trailer with a spread axle with a higher capacity and if I do that I will get a square nose for this reason. Plus I could mount a winch in the tool box.
