An argument can be made (this thread as an example) you only need warranty for the emissions crap anyway.
Insurance?? What??
5gals of gas and some matches

Oh it’s true alright. No idea on the numbers yet, but I’d say it’s decently sized. I also foresee this current TSB being expanded with a larger build date / vin range as well additional things to address. It has already been proven that DPF replacement isn’t the cure for a lot of these problem trucks. At least this is a step in the right direction though. The minute this TSB hit the inboxes of dealers, the DPF’s went on intergalactic backorder within 24 hours. This could be huge news if true. Any idea how many "bad DPFs" were released?

Well….I’ve read all 48 pages and this just about meets the limit for nausea.
I moderate an equipt-maintenance forum (not automotive) and I do understand that it is the problem-equipt that brings complaints from owners to discussion-forums….that the vast majority of happy-owners never visit forums and never suffer like dinky has…. Nevertheless, this thread is concerning to a new ‘24 CTD owner. I bought this truck under duress having suffered an out-of-town wreck of my Ram gasser. I never would have bought a diesel except for it being the only Ram suitable / available and needing a truck immediately to tow a trailer halfway back across the country. This thread is distressing.
I hope…but cannot imagine…how this will turn out well for the OP/dinky…. seeing Ram get tossed to different mfr’s over the last decade or so doesn’t inspire confidence…. Chrysler to Benz to Fiat / FCA to Stellantis…. I’ve been a Dodge-devotee for a lifetime….and saddened to see this decline. Let’s hope it gets back to American-owned and mfr’d again.
I'm sorry, I can't help it. Every few days I pop in here to check on this debacle and I keep expecting - almost hoping! - that I'll read, "She finally BLEW!! The shrapnel covered all four lanes of the Interstate and the noise even brought the local military out to investigate. Stellantis can't ignore this anymore!!"I was out of town last week so I did not drive my truck at all. Now back at it and since my pick up I've had 4 regens.
56miles, 96miles, 129miles, 133miles.
Truck should eat this DPF up in another 800 miles.

Still waiting......
I would enjoy your truck and not live in fear. Every truck manufacturer has their issues right now with zero end in sight. A lot of people drive their trucks without issue and there’s probably a variable in there of ignorant people who have zero idea there’s an issue. No sense in enjoying your truck that seems to be problem free, for now.Well….I’ve read all 48 pages and this just about meets the limit for nausea.

What You’re also seeing is the older generations hold steady in value as people move backwards, going to simpler less problematic trucks that can drive for years with maintenance and little to no major failures.
1Just wanted dinky to know that i was bored today and re-read this entire thread.
I laughed, i sighed. i shook my fist at the screen. its been an emotional time.

Lol you really must of been bored. I've been emailing Ram care, they now say they are only there for Technical Support and nothing else. Can't even tell me if my truck will be covered under warranty. Motor knock and vibration never fixed but they are only there for Technical Support lmao.
super bored.
However, have you considered contacting the news? Mention you have the newest most expensive most repaired Ram on the planet that still has chronic problems that has a multi billion dollar corporation turning its back on you? Maybe hook up with KSRkevin and do a youtube video on how both of you got screwed? send that over to ram cares and see how they feel about the publicity?
understand that.Tired all avenues multiple times and dead doors. The only thing I haven't tried is returning my truck through the dealership lobby. That would definitely get me on the news lmao. KSRkevin is a great dude but not his battle and don't really want to burden his platform he has built, I would never ask that.
understand that.
sucks man.
what about the second 2022? is that sitting till your first one goes through the motions?
You mean back when one could work on the rig with just a 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", a spark-plug socket, screw driver for carb adjustment, maybe a spline tool to help with new clutches, and could actually see the earth and grass under the A-frames and cross members when leaning over the radiator working? Ahhhhh.....those were certainly simpler days for sure.I would enjoy your truck and not live in fear. Every truck manufacturer has their issues right now with zero end in sight.
